The Second Amendment is about National Security!

    Second Amendment = National Security.
With all of this gun control talk going around, one of the things that really bugs me is when our leaders say they support the Second Amendement, yet stop with the defending of those who decide to bear arms only for sport, hunting and self defence.*
Though these are a big part of the Second Amendment, these aren't why it was created. We the people are the nation of the United States of America. The Second Amendment is about National Security. And we are not only responsible for protecting our own freedom, but we are obligated to protect it for generations to come. We the people need not forget this, or those who died and who continue to die for these freedoms die in vain. Out of Barack Obama's very mouth came the words, "We cannot to rely on our military in order to achieve the National Security objectives that we've set. We've got to have a Civilian National Security Force thats just as powerful, just as strong, just as well funded." Somehow he was convinced that we need not just rely on our armed forces to properly secure our rights. It is our responsibility to do so, and to do so, me must be just as armed as our military. Though I doubt he was aware of it when he made this speech, that is what the Second Amendment is about.*
So when our leaders say that there is no reason for citizens to be armed like a combat solder, they don't know what the Second Amendment is about. We need to get our leaders to understand this. It starts by getting them to change how they reference the Second Amendment.*I would be tickled to death if we can get our great leaders to put "I support the Second Amendment," and "Important for National Security" in the same sentence. The real question is, how can we accomplish this?*

I support your argument even more than earlier. I think this administration is trying to quietly decimate our military (reduce nucs, cuts before the sequester & compounded now by the sequester, Hagel as Defense Secretary), HMS has not secured the border & is now releasing illegal aliens by the thousands, etc.

No solid answers, but a few suggestions. Be prepared yourself. Network with friends & neighbors. Join NRA, NAGR, GOA & local/state organizations to provide the money & manpower to fight back. Be politically active on behalf of the 2A.

Last resort ????? form Militias, stockpile weapons & prepare to defend the constitution.
Ten Bears: It's sad that governments are chiefed by the double tongues. There is iron in your words of death for all Comanche to see, and so there is iron in your words of life. No signed paper can hold the iron. It must come from men.

It's all about control. Our leaders want us to be like all the other countries in the world who have unquestionable governments. They have forgotten the spirit that makes this country great and the freedom that keeps a power hungry government from taking it all away. Guns are only a part of why we are the envy of the world. It's how we got here and why we are able to stay.

From the Pilgrims forward, this country was built on the premise, If you don't work, you don't eat. It was a lot tougher in 1642 but then our forefathers didn't spend ten generations on welfare.
