Sharon Robson of Springfield, Illinois, (photographer) was kind enough to share the best shots she got today with all of us.
The march began at the Prairie Capitol Convention Center and then moved toward the Capitol. People were bused in from around the state, and even with six or seven buses that did not make it from the northern part of the state, there were still thousands in attendance.
People of all types showed up, some in wheelchairs and walkers came to demonstrate for their rights! This has been an ongoing struggle and is not over yet.
Sharon says: "We will not accept a bad bill. We would rather sink a bad bill and let the court order the legislation then let Chicago Democrats get their way with all their conditions.
There are already enough gun laws, and they are not enforced. Start enforcing existing laws and stop trying to limit the rights of the law-abiding citizens."

Now there's a beautiful sight and I hope we see a lot more of that all over the country.
"I practice the ancient art of Klik Pao."
That's a lot of people, but they are going to need a lot more if they expect to defeat the dead voters in Chicago.

I saw the photo with all the yellow and I thought somehow Big Bird and all his friends were protesting...

Having lived in IL for 51 years before I moved, the state of Illinois is not governed by the wants of the people.
I'd rather be lucky than good any day
There's nothing that will change someone's moral outlook quicker than cash in large sums.
Majority rule only works if you're also considering individual rights. Because you can't have five wolves and one sheep voting on what to have for supper.

Good on them.
Ten Bears: It's sad that governments are chiefed by the double tongues. There is iron in your words of death for all Comanche to see, and so there is iron in your words of life. No signed paper can hold the iron. It must come from men.
I have to admit, that I am/was getting tired of reading all the post about how are 2nd rights were being taken away from the citizens. I started passing and not reading by all the posts from you fine folks on the subject due to fatigue on the subject. But, seeing this reminds me that we cannot give up the good fight just because we are tired of the hoopla and stupidity. Thinking the right thing will be done is not enough. We must stay on top of this. That picture is worth a thousnd words. We must, and I will, keep on fighting for our rights no matter how long it takes. Fatigue or no fatigue.
No trees were harmed in the construction of this post. However a large number of electrons were indiscriminately aroused.
Good to see that they are finally starting to stand up for themselves! Maybe if they get rid of some of those anti-2A criminal Congresspersons and Representatives they will really start to listen!
Great to see! Wish I could have made it!

I'm very happy to see this... I hope it makes a little difference. I doubt that it will, even though that 8,000 marchers is the entire population of Illinois, sans Chicago.
I'm living eating and sleeping this stuff... I'm really very tired of it, too. As I've said elsewhere, I'm not a conspiracy theory kind of guy. Sherlock Holmes would say "the game is afoot."
Too many things that seem unrelated are coming to fruition at the same time... drone use, NDAA, economic woes, gun rights, speech rights, all being implemented, usurped, abridged, infringed.
These surely seem to be the early stages of some sort of an "Atlas Shrugged" spinoff.
We've gone through troubled times before in this country, worse than this. And if you don't believe me, Hopyard will explain it to you...
But, one thing I'm seeing that I don't recall from history, is the absolute polarity of the people on these issues... it's nearly a 50/50 split. There's no compromise, it's winner take all...
Does it scare me?
No, but it really concerns me.
txron, when the wolf is at the door, and you hear the pack in the distance, getting closer, you have two choices, I guess (there are some shades in the middle, but the final choice will be made in the end). You can remain vigilant, plan your offense and defense... or you can just open the door and let them have at you... You live free, or die free, either way.
It could be worse!
