A new law went into effect on Wednesday across Oklahoma that gives people the right to shoot to kill no matter where they are -- as long as they feel threatened.

It's the Stand Your Ground law, and it allows people to fire guns for self-defense. Officials said the goal is to allow people to defend themselves.

Many gun owners said they like the idea.

"I have a hard time thinking it could be a bad thing because it gives people who are law-abiding citizens the right to defend themselves," said Patti Clark.

The new law isn't the first self-defense law in Oklahoma. The Make My Day law states that homeowners can shoot to kill if threatened inside the home.

This went into effect yesterday and there was no "blood in the streets" by days end today? Hmmm. Imagine that.

Oregon hasn't even thought about passing such a thing and the brady bunch/vpc are already screaming about blood in the streets and people killing each other in road rage (which does happen around the state, only it seems that the ones being shot aren't the ones that started it and the ones that did start it are either illegals or criminals. For those that aren't either, they don't have a CHL (either can't get one or know that they shouldn't have one)).
