We need to move ALL these 2A attacking, liberal/progressive thinking legislators right on out to the streets on election day.

A grant program? Nice. I can't think of a better use of my tax money (aside from ObamaCare) than using it to infringe upon my constitutional rights.

It really sucks.I can't afford to shoot much,as it is.I had sent my congressman emails,i'm not sure how many times.Since our state senate has said they won't enforce any gun law bans, thankfully, no reason to bother them anymore. There is a bill now, they are trying to pass called S.C. Firearms Freedom Act.Have to wait and see how that goes.

I'm sure by "concealable firearms" they mean anything less than 1,000 pounds.

And I'm sure the buyback program will require all firearms be "bought back" at a fair price to be determined by a committee of Holder, Feinstein and Bloomberg.

Done. Let's hope this goes down in committee.

While I definitely agree that these bills need to be shut down immediately, I also believe that these bills are just hail marys because they are starting to lose traction on all the gun control bills. If you are watching what is going on in the Senate you will see that the assault weapons ban and high capacity magazine bans are just about dead on arrival. The democrats in the Senate can't even all agree on it. Mostly because they are worried about their re-elections in 2014 but I also think that while most Democrats are for some gun control, there are some that are not as extreme as others. The universal background checks have even looked to be at a sticking point as the republicans and democrats cannot agree as to how to "keep track" of the background checks. The democrat working on the bill has chosen to put forth the bill himself without bipartisan support. This probably will not fly as even if it passes senate it won't garner support from the republican controlled house without support from republican senators. The gun trafficing bill seems to be the only one that may pass. I think as long as the bill is worded correctly and implies what it says then I think we could all get behind that because I would not like BG having firearms. Now this won't by itself keep firearms out of the hands of BG but maybe it would actually deter someone from doing straw purchases is they are hit with a felony. This really puts the ball in the liberals court because it will only make a difference if they actually prosecute someone for it which history has shown they haven't been doing it.

The only bills I believe have any chance are the ones taking place in New York, Colorado and the like. I do think that a lot of these bills will be found unconstitutional mainly in New York. Now if there are any worries of nothing passing and King Obama just issueing executive orders don't necessarily worry. Under the Constitutions nulification clause, the federal laws that states have to recognize are those that are constitutional and they have to pass through congress. Executive Orders are weightless. I think our president knows this otherwise he would have just used executive orders for everything.

To sum up what I am trying to say is that we need to stay on guard now more than ever, once the smoke clears keep pushing back to gain ground back our way, and they must feel that these are going no where because it sounds like to me they are grasping for straws to show the people that know nothing about firearms and just flat out don't want us to have them that they did something.

Keep up the good fight and carry on!

H.R. 793: To amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to impose an excise tax on concealable firearms
We should impose a microphone tax, $10K per attempt to come within 100yds of one, and $100K per attempt to actually use one. Actual proof of commission of lying, misdirection, obfuscation while using one, $1M per offense; proof of breach of one's sworn oath of office while using one, a hanging offense.

What say you, elected hirelings? How 'bout a trade? We not hang you for treason against the Constitution and the People, just yet, and you pass legislation unanimously to put such a thing on the books that'll actually hold your toes to the fire (oath-wise), eh?

bigtime_077 I agree. However, I think that part of the strategy is to flood the environment with bills hoping that a couple get through, particularly as compromises.

I think the compromise should be - they give us National Reciprocity with no federal minimum standard & we won't impeach Obummer this year for his unconstitutional acts.

I expressed my opposition. I have also told my representatives and senators that I expect them to reject any and all legislation that infringes on my freedoms. I will keep doing so until there is no more bad legislation to fight (which I expect to be a long, long time from now).

This stuff is really starting to ruffle my feathers! To some point I agree they are throwing up everything they can and seeing what sticks. I think they are scared right now and trying to get anything to pass they can. I sure hope the voters remember what they are doing now when the election comes. These clowns need to board the train and leave!

We need to remember and to remind the voters when 2014 comes around!

This is a problem for pro 2A watchdogs.
The libs throw out so much non-sense in the way of bills, proposed bills etc..it becomes almost impossible to monitor their BS.
This is by design. They hope "something" might sneak thru amidst the noise.
