Lifetime Carry Permits - Get your Senators Attention with the REVENUE INCREASE

I wanted to post this as a supplement to my original post concerning Tennessee Lifetime Carry Permits. Below is an excerpt from the State of Tennessee's site concerning legislation on a Lifetime Carry Permit and its positive financial impact over a 5 year period of time. Want to get something like this started in your state and stand up for your 2nd Amendment Rights? Show a State Senator this type of return on a $39,700 investment. Thought this would be worth reading.....

    Source: Bill Summary

SB 0956 by *McNally, Summerville. (HB 0845 by *Ragan.)

Handgun Permits - As introduced, authorizes issuance of lifetime handgun permits to service disabled veterans who otherwise qualify for issuance of a permit, subject to providing documentation and payment of a $200 fee. - Amends TCA Title 39, Chapter 17, Part 13.

    Fiscal Summary

Increase State Revenue - Exceeds $850,000/FY13-14 Exceeds $255,000/FY14-15 thru FY16-17

............In addition to the fiscal impact estimated above, there will be a one-time increase in state expenditures of $39,700 for the Department of Safety to employ a vendor for the purpose of programming and software modifications. Given a required implementation date of July 1, 2013, these one-time costs are likely to occur in FY12-13.

Can this "lifetime" permit be revoked?
I don't always have nothing to say, but when I do, I post it on Facebook.

Only if the permit holder becomes disqualified under the statute. Every 4 years a background check is ran to determine if the holder still meets eligibility. As long as there are no criminal offenses, or other disqualifing circumstances then the holder is good. This is the way Tennessee is setting this up.

It is ideal for the recently retired & disabled, but not for all, and would be waste of money, in my case, based on the one time $200 cost verses the normal renewal. At my age I don't even buy green tomatoes .

Note: in Florida the CWFL must be renewed every 7 years at a cost of $60

Yes, the wife does do those on occasion. The important part of this action is that it shows that you guys in Tn. do have senators that do sometimes attempt to provide support to the part of the population that have served their country. I do believe it is time to reverse the present trend of providing lifetime support to those that never have or never will attempt to be self supporting and continue to be on the dole at the behest of our elected officials.
