Informal poll: if you DID NOT VOTE on Nov'12, why?

My daughter was home from college this past weekend. We started discussing politics a little, and she asked me question I couldn't answer very well:
    "Why WOULDN'T somebody vote?"
I gave her a multitude of reasons, but none seemed to satisfy her opinion of, "well, that's a bullsh!t reason, don't you think?" and preceded to debunk the excuse.

Here are a few of the top excuses:
    My vote doesn't matter
I didn't like either of the candidates
    They're all crooks, liars, etc.
Lines too long, too long a wait, etc.

Since I vote every chance I get, these excuses seem rather weak to me as well.

So if you have a reason, put it out there...I'm going to send her the link to this thread so she can see any responses.

    Thanks!
    Radar

I didn't vote because my state is considered a republican vote before the election begins....

    IE: my vote doesn't matter

I live in Florida. Our votes did not matter and were not even tallied until after Obama was declared the winner. That is what I do not like about our current voting system. I am trusted to pay my taxes and even receive tax refunds by electronically filing but for some reason when it comes to voting no one can seem to come up with a secure online system. My thoughts are that politicians do not want it to be so easy to vote. Right now only the truly motivated will vote. Imagine what he results would be if everyone could vote from their home.

I normally vote but this time I twice went to my voting place and could not even get to the parking lot. The cars where backed up to the main road and the police told us we could not stop there and to move along and come back later. We went to eat and came back in the late afternoon figuring that it would be better but it was not and again we were told to move along so I gave up. This was common in Florida this year where the average wait to vote was 2 hours assuming you could even get to the place to vote. It took the State a week or so to tally the votes. That is how bad their system is. Remember the hanging Chads? We in Florida get the impression that the State is so slow that unless we are the deciding factor, our votes will not even be counted before the winner is declared and being the deciding vote is not something that occurs more than once in a lifetime.
