How many different ways will they come after our guns?

My guess is more than I care to count. Check out this local story here in Nebraska, specifically the last sentence.

Panel Advances Nebraska Bill For Veteran Plates, IDs

A bill that would allow military veterans in Nebraska to display their status on license plates and state identification cards is headed to the floor of the Legislature. The Transportation and Telecommunications Committee advanced the proposal last week, 6-0, and designated it as a priority bill. The committee's chairwoman, Sen. Annette Dubas of Fullerton, is expected to speak about the bill during a press conference Tuesday at the Capitol.

The bill creates a "veteran" designation for driver's licenses and identification cards. An amendment would allow "Military Honor" license plates for active service members and veterans.

Supporters say the designation could help veterans receive discounts offered by businesses, or signal to law enforcement that a person may suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder.
Yah...I think I'm gonna pass on "the honor" of vet plates. Be wise, the new background check will carry the full force of our 21st century big brother behind it.

Look, during the Cold War............ and before, being a Vet was Good. Then Slick Willie .....and well, now we have social justice to atone for (even though I never socially unjustified anyone????).

This is your current Federal Govt run by the Hippies of the 60s. What else do I need to say?

The next couple of years are going to be a lot of fun......... (this is where we all say a very small) "yippy!"

I used to be proud to be a Veteran. Now maybe we will all become enemies of the State.

    Wow, what next? Arm bands?

When I see a veteran's license plate, I can tell you that neither the first (or last) thing I'm thinking is "PTSD, run!"

Adverts get noticed. Same as with signs/stickers on homes and cars, same with dress/clothing we wear, same with special ID's and similar designations. Adverts can lie. And adverts can be misconstrued, based on biases and prejudices, generalizing to presume it applies to an individual

Floating under the radar is exactly the opposite of these things.

When will they appreciate that criminal action requires criminal action in order to be criminally threatening. No indicators are going to effectively identify crime ahead of time, no matter how much they wish it were so. Crystal balls aren't any better than they used to be, at predicting this sort of thing.

Oh, you've got state "law-maker" license plates. You simply must be worthy of a bye on your speeding ticket. Oh, you wear camo and clearly have a thing for firearms, so you must be one of those right-wing, wacko nut-jobs who threaten my children ...

    Not at all. Not I.

But many of them do, indeed, the ones that wear such "law-maker" plates/ID's.

When the rules become so stacked against me that I'm guaranteed to lose, I play by my own rules. BTW, the thing that makes veterans different than others is not the possibility of PTSD. Most people in this world deserve respect.......veterans have earned it!

I think there is a sneak provision in the Amnesty bill for everybody to get a GPS tracked National Identification Card. Easier for the Drones to find you.

My guess is DHS will start a forum under the guise of it being pro-gun and get people to post pictures of their guns and discuss them. Then they will use their unhappiness with govt gun grabbing efforts to label them domestic threats and use the Identifying data embedded in the digital picture to pinpoint your identity and location and the black vans will pull up one midnight and we will notice you're not on here anymore.

Honestly, I have passed on a bunch of stuff like that, and not just things related to my vet status. If anyone wants my info, any info, I ask why. If I do not think the reason is good enough, I do not give it. I even stopped doing phone surveys regarding silly stuff, like entertainment, which news stations I watch, etc. I am sure I seem like a tinfoil hat commander to some, but I cannot help it because of everything I see going on...and wondering about all of the stuff I do not see going on.

These are sad, dark days for America.

I agree with everything you said except for the tense..."will." My guess is DHS, or someone, already has, long ago. Not that they need to, we do it ourselves and stuff on the Internet will live forever.
