Oklahoma Senator Tom Coburn gets some answers from DHS on Ammo Purchases

Sen. Tom Coburn has gotten some answers from DHS on past and future ammo purchases by department. I find it interesting that DHS, from 2010 through 2013, will have purchased over 465,000,000 rounds of ammunition.

Would that be the same "tinfoil hat crowd" that said gun rights will fall away, and that the UN will pass its global gun ban, and that the world is round?

According to paragraph #3, the various agencies of DHS already have a little over 2 years worth of ammo (Total DHS 263,733,362) in the inventory; average annual purchase past 3 years roughly 119,000,000 rounds. Seems like a lot of ammo to keep in the inventory. Is that a typical inventory for such agencies?

    Oakchas,
When did this preparation for "war on the population" that folks talk about start?
More specifically when did the government start buying up all the ammo for it?

1.2 billion plus being purchased, they show a "purchase & usage" per year of 100 million. If that's an order for 12 yrs, then it's on track. My understanding is it was for 4 yrs, which would be 300 % of what's needed, and 200 million rds too many per year and a definite over-purchase if that's true.

And we're supposed to believe Napolitano because we know she always tells the truth, just like Eric Holder.

Didn't Napolitano tell us that she has now secured the border?

    Phew.

I'm sure glad that we got all of this cleared up.

You sir are obviously an extremist! Please unload all of your guns, place them in a barrel and wait for the men in suits, or white jackets. The government is here to help!

Question is, have they actually used the 100 million rounds each year. Does the chart depict Projected usage or actual usage and can you believe the data as supplied....In the first three months of this year DHS placed orders for 400,000 rounds that included 40,000 rounds of .300WSM Ammo.
