How UBCs work to save lives.

The honorable state of California requires background checks for all firearm sales, IINM.

Might require registration of handguns, too.

In this case, the system failed... WHODATHUNK?

Is this how much safer we will be?

Quite possibly the perp/victim would have easily passed a NICS check, but he apparently didn't wanna.

    Bought a gun, killed himself.

California,Illinois,New York and Connecticut ought to be excommunicated from the United States for failure to adhere to the U.S. Constitution. Maybe then Massachusetts and New Joisey would take heed and straighten up.

I think the OP highlights how hard it is to measure success and failure. What types of metrics would you use? People're fond of nitpicking or (conversely) brushing aside anecdotes.
The only acceptable long-term outcome is to find a cure. It's an actual solution, requiring forward-thinking efforts.

Until then, we're just arguing about who's pushing who.
