From the interview with the JAMA article author:

“In states that have the most [gun] laws, there is a 42 percent reduction in fatalities, compared to those states with the least number of laws,” Fleegler said. “You can’t necessarily say one absolutely led to the other … but you can say those things are related.”
BOVINE EXCREMENT you can say that!

We could likely find several other correlations to firearm deaths (which include suicide) - what about poverty levels? What about single parent family levels?

The only common sense gun legislation was written about 224 years ago.

I carry always not because I go places trouble is likely, but because trouble has a habit of not staying in its assigned zone.

I hear ya' man; but please allow me to correct your assertions.

The blame lies with the judicial system (corrupt judges) that let these (losers that won't get jobs.... Dope heads... Low life scum) back on the street!

It's the politicians at ALL levels of government that are more concerned with their PAC money to get re-elected!

It's the education system that has successfully indoctrinated the "mush for brains" kiddies; many who now are teachers further spreading this virus of socialism.

The books by John Lott, Don Kates, David Kopel and Gary Kleck are a good place to start.

Here's a useful article, for example, written by David Kopel, which has some good references to various works: click.

True.. However.. The main point was that it's those people that steal guns and kill innocent people...
