    Alert Florida residents HB 1355

State Representative Barbara Watson (D-Miami Gardens) is teaming up with the NRA to expand the list of people "prohibited" from owning or possessing a gun in Florida.

Her bill -- HB-1355 -- would add those who voluntarily commit themselves to a mental institution to a list of prohibited persons from buying a gun, even if they end up only needing outpatient treatment.

The unintended consequence of this legislation is that it could keep some law abiding gun owners from seeking psychiatric help for fear of losing their firearms.

One of the gun grabbers goals is to disqualify as many gun owners as possible and they consider mental health legislation a means to that end.

This bill has already passed committee. Please act quickly.

If it's being floated by the Fla state dems, then it's not going anywhere.

The only thing I could find on HB 1355 was a 2012 bill pertaining to child abuse reporting proposed and sponsored by Republicans. Passed and signed by the Governor last year. Had nothing to do with guns. Did the reporter get the bill number wrong?
