    What? Air guns?

    Is this happening here - in America?? I thought UK had the monopoly on such things!

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    New Bedford, Massachusetts City Council Planning to Impliment Air Gun Ban!
    On Thursday, November 9th, a proposal was introduced before the New Bedford City Council to ban future sales of air guns, require licensing for existing air guns, and require that existing air guns be painted fluorescent colors.
    If approved, the proposal would be sent to the State House as legislation to affect the entire Commonwealth.
    Well, several of the "New" England states sure value their old world ties and mores....and lets not even discuss NY(C) or NJ.
    It really doesn't surprise me that a state that keeps re-electing Ted Kennedy is also coming up with idiocy of the same caliber in other areas.
    Any chance a kid or teen was recently shot by police while brandishing an Airsoft? That's usually how these things start.
    *don't look if you can't stand blood*
    Geez, I never thought I'd see the day that air guns were made illegal (or the attempt of).
    I grew up with a pellet gun then got my first single shot .22 then a semi .22, then a 20gauge shotgun.
    Heck, I just had to use my air gun to protect my life last night. This humonguous critter tried to attack me (well, the little mouse trap that I had knocked it dizzy and I had to use my BB gun to take it down):
    Out here in the country, we don't have city mice, we've got rats the size of a kitten .
    Oh, and that is it's blood (and brains), not mine. Took four shots to take it out finally, should have used the .45 (but I would hate to see what my already bad looking floor would have ended up looking like).
    Most places I've lived already regulate air guns the same as firearms. Where I live now does as well. No discharge of a firearm within the city limits and that means air guns as well.
    I have little doubt that Mass. will pass such a ban. Or at a minimum draconian controls on the ownership of air guns.
    Reason #45789 NOT to live in Massachusetts.
    My entire family is from MA, and I still would never live there. Heck, I moved away from Maryland for this reason too.
    Ted Kennedy and fluorescent pink airguns that require permits and probably ammo controls. My father always claimed MA was really not an American state.
    There must be something in the water up there. Don't forget their other long time Senator, John F. Kerry, but he's ok 'cause he goes goose hunting during campaigns.lol
    Seriously, I understand these people's thinking. Banning airguns? This goes to show that they are not interested in crime, they are interested in control. Banning airguns will ensure that future generations don't become part of the much feared "gun cultutre".
