Maybe she's not as strong as some fear.

Todays edition of the Washington Post reports that MD Dem. Hoyer is being tapped to be the next House Majority leader. This is despite strong opposition by Pelosi who wanted it to be Murtha. what this means in the long run remains to be seen but it does seem to be that Pelosi might not be as strong and influencial as she thinks she is.

I really think that we need a homely Bo~tox injected 60+ year old Ultra~Liberal left~wing San Francisco Millionaire Grandmother named Nancy to get this country back on the right track again.

I'm really surprised Ms. Pelosi wanted to pick this fight, because the results indicate the vote wasn't even close. I don't see any upside for her (unless she thinks this positions Mr. Murtha for the Whip position?).

Not to be nitpicky, but Nancy Pelosi is not a U.S. Senator.

Let's not make her more powerful than she already thinks she is.

another smoke and mirrors tactic arising from the latest "bribe scandal" surrounding Murtha....

While I'm sure people here could find a lot of stuff to disagree with Murtha on (including hating him on general principles because Pelosi endorsed him), Murtha is actually pretty good on firearms issues.

That's a good sign. This doesn't apply to Murtha as he is a seasoned veteran of Captiol Hill, but I think a lot of the newly elected Dems are pro-gun, I just hope they can hold the line when the anti's in the leadership put pressure on them. Hoyer beat Murtha anyway so he is the one to watch I guess, and he has an F rating from the NRA, (http://www.ambackforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=42762)so Pelosi's loss was ours as well in this case.

My post wasn't and endorsment of Hoyer, simply an observation on Pelosi's clout. However, your right.
