62% think U.S. Senate should ‘move on’ from defeated gun control bill

Seems that a majority of Americans want the U.S. Senate to move on and not try to revive the defeated gun control bill. Not surprisingly more women than men wanted the Senate to vote again. However, the majority of people were in favor of individual gun control measures to ban “unspecified” assault weapons and magazines that hold more than 10 rounds. It is interesting that so many ignorant people want to ban weapons that they cannot even identify. What kind of world are we living in where no one seems to want to spend any time researching things that they want to ban and yet will spend the day protesting against that which they are ignorant about? Yeah, the gun banners will never sleep or quit until they get what they want...total control.

Of course they want to ban private ownership of guns...because many of them are guilty of things that they could be shot for.

Nice post. Despite the public sentiment they will continue for, as you note, and as HG, power and control.

Unfortunately, what people want has little to do with what their governments have planned for them.

Very true but WE DO hold the power if we vote. The problem is that so few vote and the politicians know that which is why we still do not have internet voting. We can move millions of dollars over the internet, file our taxes, etc., but we still cannot come up with a system to vote from our homes???? The politicians fear the day where they cannot control the small groups of people who actually go out to vote. Imagine the power that citizens will have if they can vote online. The face of our government would change.

Unfortunately I feel that the power to vote is dwindling due to our selection being all bad choices. When it comes down to bad candidate A and even worse candidate B, what do we do? What options do we have when we are no longer represented at all and our votes are more or less a ritual with no real effect?

Then you have the whole digital vote fraud bit. With less and less of a paper trail it makes you wonder if there aren't some 'little gnomes' tweaking things behind the scenes. If you want to see what I mean, look at Malaysia's election from last month or so. Definitely a very shady dealing there.

This would take the power out of the hands of big money and put it back in the hands of the people.

    Whatever.

IMO, until we get all infringements of the 2A at all levels (fed, state, county, local) erased once and for all, and STIFF teeth put into the law for oath-breakers and for crimes against the Constitution, this fight over liberty won't be over. And even then, it won't really ever be over.

May this stay in our minds until the fight is done. 'Cause, quite frankly, once it's back-burnered, the liberty-haters have another shot at creating a crisis of their own making, one they can control. Right now, they can't control a darned thing, on this question. And that suits me just fine.

KEEP UP THE PRESSURE. We need to erase the infringements. And that's likely going to take some years. But whatever you do, do NOT forgive or forget.

Its about "feelings"....if we ban bad things....people can't use them.

Totally illogical and stupid. I would say ignorant...but the facts are out there, and they are willful in their ignorance...ergo, they are stupid.
