Abuse of the Republic
As retired military person, I support an aggressive anti-terrorist agenda. However, it appears this administration has gone beyond that with its phone & PRISM dragnet of American citizens communications. It appears that George Orwell's 1984 is here both in chronology and fact. The "Big Brother" police state appears to be on top of us. The abuses of this administration, not only by the intelligence community, but also by the IRS, Benghazi, Fast & Furious, Obamacare, Congressional recess appointments, unconstitutional illegal immigrant pardons (Dream Act equivalent) and the assaults on the First Amendment (FOX News Reporter being targeted) and the Second Amendment by Obama/Biden including the UN "Small Arms Treaty" lead me to believe this government is out of control. Obama wanted to "fundamentally change America", well it seems that he is trying to create a dictatorship via internal coup rather than improve the country. The repeated attacks on the Constitution by this administration are staggering. The leadership, by direct or indirect laissez-faire actions is to blame. After twenty years in the Military, including as many in the Intelligence Community, working to support my country, I no longer recognize it.
Both houses of Congress & both parties need to "wake up" and do their jobs to stop this administration. It is not in the best interest of either party to let this type of abuse of the Republic to continue.
Be prepared, the fight is just beginning.

I appreciate this post for reminding us that we are a Republic. It's a simple, and yet very complicated distinction to a Democracy. Both forms allow us to take the trash out. But we are a Republic and I grow so weary of the common mistake that we are not. Sorry...didn't mean to hijack.
What if the Hokey Pokey IS what it's all about?

It has become blatant under this administration, but it did not originate with it.
The Fed has been growing for decades in it's overreaching scope.
Ignoring the limitations of Government as designed in the name of expediency and security has been happening almost since its inception.
Politicians have lost sight of the fact that they serve us, that we rule them, not the other way around.
This has happened because we let it. We cut them slack because " It's too much hassle to do it the way it's outlined in the Constitution" or
"The previous administration did it so it must be right for them to do it a little more"
When there appears to be an issue with public flack to a Bill or Regulation, it is given a misleading descriptive title such as "The we don't want our children to die law"
so that anybody coming out against it can be shamed into submission.
We need to become involved. Read the text of the Bills, Executive orders, and SC rulings. Call out the politicians when they spout off misleading crap. Hold our elected officials accountable. And put our Government back in line with the Principles of its Foundation. Scrap the laws, regulations, and agencies not in line with Government our Constitution set in place or alter the Constitution so that they will be in line with it, but don't ignore that System and apply it arbitrarily. It cheapens the whole idea of Law.

Ten years ago the Patriate ACt seems like a good idea. But, like everything else in the Federal Government, it grew into the monster that we see today. This whole thing started out where we were only going to listen to, and collect data on international calls. Now we are all seen as potential terrorist.
The more homegrown these attacks become, the more this monster will grow. Nomatter what administration is in office.

It was never a good idea. It was always an abrogation of our rights. A real Supreme Court would have cut it to shreds.

We the People are the Republic.
Therefore it is the abuse of us all that the Followers of this ill-beaten Federal drum are marching to.

Our Republic has been crapped on for several years...but Obama took it to a whole new level beginning in 2008. He's got 3 1/2 years left to destroy it.
I don't know if his regime is imploding or not. He's got the media on his side, and half of the country who care nothing more than their free meal ticket.
He's getting ready to add 20 million illegals to his voting block, who will then turn around and petition for all of their family members, quadrupling the number of democrats.
He also had a huge base that doesn't have a problem committing voter fraud, as we saw last November.
But, we never give up the good fight.

Well, time will tell if the American public has learned a little bit about how a tyranny can start to take hold. If another like the current administration gets into power, then we will have our answer. It could go either way at this point. JMHO.

Only half the voting population... That's way more than he should have. It just goes to show how easily deceived people are.

Let's put politics aside and look at all the scandals and abuses. Is Barack Obama incompetent, or is this his cunning plan. I think it's more devious and evil than just being over one's head.

Makes one wonder who really is at the helm--if anyone. The guy standing at the wheel doesn't seem to have a clue of what's happneing unless he hears about it first on CNN.

We know this has been happening for more than just the last few administrations...
THIS WEEK, with George Stephanopulos (sp?) showed a clip this morning of Bella Abzug grilling a NSA official, in congressional hearings in 1975.
The official said he didn't want to answer in an open congressional hearing.
1975... Nearly 10 election cycles ago... Zero was hardly out of knickers 38 years ago.
Yeah, I got tapatalk, too. So what?
It could be worse!
