Thumbs down McCain shows true colors

John McCain shows his true colors and they are not conservative or gun friendly. He has called for an examine of the "Stand your ground" law to be fair.

STAND YOUR GROUND HAS NO RELEVANCE TO THE CASE!! STOP PANDERING!

He's always been wobbly on conservative issues. I only voted for him in '08 because there was no other viable choice. That and I knew his VP was for real.

To be fair, the commission (or whatever it's called) in FLA has reviewed it a couple of times and not found it wanting. "Examination" can go both ways, and it can work to the benefit of the upstanding to have reviews come out with unqualified support of the viability of the statutes/procedures in question.

As turned out to be the case, say, with one of the studies since Sandy Hook: 2A - New CDC Report: Armed Victims Less Likely to be Harmed by Attackers .

Though, as you say, McCain's neither as conservative nor good for liberty as he claims ... in many ways.

"Stand your ground" laws are not a Federal Issue anyway, its a states issue.

All they can do is make noise and hope that people listen.

Politicians should have a duty to retreat from saying anything to the media.

Politicians should be held to an exacting, heavily-penalized, criminal/hireling standard of upholding their sworn oaths to NOT tear down, attack or seek to sidestep the Constitution. That "duty to retreat" (from constitutional evisceration) is a duty that I could get behind. Anything less just won't hold water; they'll just ignore it, like everything else.

Had this old fool chosen dang near anyone else except the twit from Wassila as a running mate in 08 we would not have Obummer in office today. He lost all credibility and respect when he chose that total idiot. Good looking, kinda, but dumber than a box of rocks.

There was no way to avoid acute nausea when casting a ballot in 08

There is going to be a certain amount of "noise" on this subject for a while (all caused by the zimmerman trial)...nobody was talking about this before.......all sound bytes to appease the anti gun groups and sound politically correct. Make noise, sound the alarms, 30 sec news coverage for the ones needing it....

IMHO, the noise will subside quickly and we can go back to normal. SYG was enacted for a reason...that reason has not changed.

It shows just how far the GOP has fallen that the left-leaning EC party "leaders" forced the issue and made McCain the nominee in 2008. I detest Harry "The Dirty Dog" Reid, Pelosi, Durbin, Barack Hussein, etc., but at least they wear the uniform of the army they represent. McCain masquerades as a Republican when it profits him to do so and sleeps with the liberals when that profits him. He is a lot like Richard Lugar was before we finally got rid of him in 2012.

Like her or not she is far more qualified than the current Whitehouse defiler.

I respect the service and sacrifice McCain has performed for this country. I wish him a peaceful retirement and a capable ethical successor.

She would have been a heartbeat away from the oval office, and though McCain is still here, we can't say that the stress of office wouldn't have taken its toll. We see it in the rapid aging of every president, regardless of party or events.

Obama is a threat because he is intelligent, just ignorant. She is just stupid, to the bone.

Your opinion but not accurate. Palin gained votes for the ticket, she didn't lose them. The McCain campaign was a disaster from the beginning. Selecting Palin for #2 on the ticket was one of the few bright decisions they made.
