I write, "I don't join communist organizations!" on anything I get from the AARP and send it back in their prepaid envelopes.

I would say this is a chance to go on the offensive instead of simply giving up. We need to tell them we are the membership and we do not support this. Let us look at how we can hold them accountable. Instead of giving up this ground can we take it back?

    The NRA's "Anti-Gun Organizations"
We may also have to leave the Methodist Church.....I left AARP a long time ago. Some organizations like the church, you just have to write it off to "the national organization", many of which are located in the eastern seaboard, and ride it out.

AARP is extremely Progressivly Leftist/Socialist leaning.

Didn't join AARP when I could after hearing their position during the 08 election. My church is very conservative and a over average number of us carry. We even host a concealed class and have had over 500 students pass through our doors. Even our minister & his wife carry.
We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us.

I did write them and I will not be renewing this year. What I got back from them was a form letter that basically said that they didn't care what I thought, that they knew what was best for their members in spite of what their members felt and that was that.

There are conservative alternatives to AARP. They're advertised on conservative talk shows and if you Google for them there's 2 or 3 out there.

And do not forget AARP is a massive supporter of obamacare and stands to make billions off the supplemental insurance from obamacare. If you want to know where the monies go that is sent to charities check out this site, in particular HSUS (Humane Society of the US). This one is looking for more members:
They are anti AARP for much of the reasons stated above. http://amac.us/about-us/our-stance-on-the-issues

I am not a member of either one but discovered this while shopping for a better dental plan.
