Seems like the same old tactic create a patchwork of differing laws and ordinances so that your perfectly legal one moment then you pass an invisible line and your a soon to be felon. Discourage the exercise of a right without making it illegal.

Buses, trains, the "EL", within 1/2 mile of any school, restaurants, ...

Boy, they really don't want anyone to be capable of withstanding or surviving violent felons, do they?

Next step, for Illinois citizens: state-wide preemption, with heavy penalties for liberty-hating hacks who attempt to circumvent the will of the People on this point.

Premier emanuel is continuing his tantrum just like a toddler who doesn’t want to do something. It will be interesting to see what restrictions He will come up with next.

You are free to carry a gun anywhere you want as long as it isn't within 1,000 feet of anything or anybody.

Sounds like the old Chinese Inspection. If they don't want to let a load of produce in but can't legally stop it, they set it aside for inspection...which they get to after it has sat on the dock in the sun for about a month. Once inspected, it is free to go on and be imported.

I say, bring it on. The more he dumps on Illinois citizens, the more there's going to be cause to go after him and such tactics via the courts, and the more dumping that's done then the courts will likely take a dimmer view of the shenanigans being played. More ammo for the firestorm that's coming, among which will almost surely include a push toward state preemption, once the doom-and-gloomers' "Blood in the streets" predictions don't transpire.
