Here in CA we are absolutely desparate. Please help.

I'm sure most of you are aware that we are about to have our rights stripped by new legislation. Almost every bill that was proposed was passed, so we are relying on Gov Brown to veto.

Some of these bills include a new "assault weapons ban". This will make all of our centerfire rifles with detachable mags illegal to transfer. Basically once we die they are confiscated from our families and destroyed.

Here in CA we are fighting as hard as we can, but it's not enough. We need everyone we can get. Even if you don't live in CA, please contact Gov Brown and tell politely explain why he needs to veto these bills. If you'd like an easy way to spread the message, or want more information I have provided a video here . It's not the best, but it's what I can come up with. Please share it (or something like it) on every available social networking site. CALL TO ACTION: Stop SB 374 "Assault" Weapons Ban - YouTube

Ill do the sign and message thing as you ask. Id still move. Cali is a lost cause. A few things have started there and spread. But this particular issue wont to a majority of free states in this nation. Ill help, but Id advise move and let the left coast fall into sea. No turning that state around and has not been for 20 years or more.

The population in Cali is ultra liberal and the politicians know they will get voted in by doing this sort of stupidity. Unlike a majority of the rest of the states. Its why some of us say move. Just dont move and vote like a typical Californian :yup:

I agree that we are far down the hole, but I can't move so we need to take it back. CO has shown that even if it's unlikely you can still fight back and win.

I feel for California.Someone said "today it's my state, tomorrow it's yours".I don't know what the future brings, but i would really be shocked if my state did anything remotely close to what those idiot politicians are doing to the people of California, especially after PTR IND have setup shop, and inviting any of the other gun manufacturers to come to S.C.

I hope Brown doesn't sign it.

We have a West Coast in Florida, and we're gun-friendly. Unfortunately, California is getting worse by the day. Your only hope is a change of venue. Only you can decide if staying is worth the price of your freedom. Not me. Too many other great places to live in the US. Life's too short to live somewhere that sucks.

I wish you the best of luck OP but with Jerry Brown as Gov. I doubt very much he's going to stand up for your gun rights.

What a shame your beautiful state has been co opted by Liberals. I completely understand you not wanting to move. It's easier said than done when you have jobs, friends and family in the state; not to mention the huge cost of selling your house in a down market.

The recall in CO is encouraging. Maybe it will spread to CA. Elections are coming in 2014.

As for moving I'm military, so unfortunately my ass is here to stay. Even if you think it's a lost cause please call. It can only help.
If your base commander and the officers are willing, how about leveraging the weight of pull an entire base might have. Of course, putting it on the line could get sticky, given how anti-gun the "Chief" and his hirelings happen to be. But that's another avenue. Upstanding participation in meetings, gatherings, "events" in the state capitol, at key legislature sessions in which certain bills are being discussed (at which members could be brought in for their viewpoints). Speaking to the lack of sanity and wisdom of some of these awful bills could be seen as having greater weight, given the perspective the career military mind can bring to such matters.

I don't see how any of the state hirelings would be influenced by those who don't vote or pay taxes in CA.

The fact is that the liberals own the state and unless stopped via legal action, do pretty much whatever they want. "Moonbeam" Brown hasn't changed his mind since the "70s, I doubt he will now just because we ask.

I have 2 solutions, but the forum rules only allow me to say the second one: Move to another state.

Well, until people get serious during campaigns and elections to get pro-gun people elected around the state, ya'all are pretty much stuck with what you have. Your only hope is legal challenges, and due to the extremely liberal 9th Circuit, that typically means taking it to the SCOTUS.

Surprisingly Moon Bat has been very neutral on 2A issues. I hear a lot of statements like " you get what you deserve by staying in CA"! "MOVE!" "Arent You smart enough to Vote them out?" The problem is most of the Libs arent even on the ballot where I live. 75% of CAs population lives on only 25% of the land. The other 75% of the land is controled by Freedom loving conservatives, Who vote for like minded politicians. But they are out numbered. The libs have learned to appeal to one issue voters. And they know they have enough votes in the costal area to out number any resistance.

To those who dont believe that what Goes in CA will spread to the rest of the country, look closely at the last two elections at how the Libs only campained in the states and large population centers where one issue voters could be counted on to give the libs a mathmatic win. just enough votes that the rest of the country did not matter! So goes CA, So goes the rest!

Another example is the lead shot ban. Started in CA, and spread to the rest of the country. Now in CA they want to ban all lead ammo. How about a hand in defeating that? Or will you wait till it comes to you also? Mag limits, are you going to wait till they come to your state also? Assault weapons Ban, Its on our Govenors desk. Should you wait till its on your Govenors desk?

Im old enough to remember when CA had none of this and Ronald Regan was a Demacrat. I dought Ill see CA restored to what it was but learn from CAs mistakes, Fight the libs on every level, and anywhere they gather. And what happens in other states should matter to you also.

OK Rant mode off. DR

The republic is a relic. Want my advice. Become a prepper and just freaking prep.

The inevitable collapse WILL INDEED OCCUR!! Call me a loonbat but cant you people see the writing on the wall? Even if an Alien drop ship came and gave us a world wide broadcast that the planet would be under attack in 1 year NO ONE would listen.

When I was younger, I thought California was the place I wanted to live! LA! The beaches! Rock music! The 80's were totally tubular! LOL! And THEN.....as I got older, I realized just how screwed up Cali was. Now? I'm glad I'm a Texan, born and bred. Kalifornia needs to go away. I realize some people can't just up and leave...but if you CAN...DO IT.

I agree and feel for the few "good" folks left in CA. I do pay NRA dues, I do call MY reps. Several calls to the White House, concerning 2A issues, actually got me a personal phone response from my US representative. Even though it was more of a "Please stop calling the White House" type phone call, it was effective.

CO has has proven themselves able to fend off attacks on their rights. I have spoken to several people in CO, most agree that their problems were initiated by "refugees" from another state. Perhaps folks in CA should look at CO and other states as an example.

I do not know if CA is a lost cause or not. I don't live there. It is quite evident that a state that would re-elect Jerry "My nose has no living tissue left in it" Brown and send someone like Nancy Pelosi to congress sealed their fate. Unfortunately, a majority of the rest of the country views "All" Californians as disciples of Gov. Brown and the ultra liberal, socialist, US representative Pelosi. Should Californians ban together and actually "fire" Nancy Pelosi, the rest of the country may change their views. Until some hard changes are made, by California voters, on the state and national level, nothing out there is going to change for the better. All that the people in the other states can offer is words. I understand, It is not you, but with all due respect, my 2A brother and US soldier, My words don't mean squat to an arrogant, liberal, elitist, California politician. Until most Californians, NOT YOU and other 2A supporters, stop viewing the rest of the country as "Dog Squeeze", for the lack of a better term, not much sympathy is going to be gained for the Great State of California.

When anyone faces a problem there only 3 options. 1. Identify and get rid of the problem. 2. Live with the problem 3. Run away from the problem. Again, I sympathize with the problems that CA is having. IMHO. The only option remaining for 2A supporters, in California, is option 3.

I cannot speak for you, but, to me that life out in CA would not be worth it. Yes, It is hot, muggy, down here in the South. We got mosquitoes, snakes, monster gnats, alligators. I'll take the trade off any day.

The odds for you to come out on top, of this issue, would make a Vegas bookie cringe..

Over the years, I have had many people offer me jobs in California. I have turned them all down. When they ask why, I explain. The all agree but say <insert excuse here>.

Unless you have a very good reason to live in California, I would move. The state is a pig sty in so many ways. Many many people feel this way and they are losing population in huge numbers. Pretty soon, if you don't move, you will be the only one paying for all their madness.

... "Dense and liberal"... redundant.

I feel for California. Back in the day, I might have sent letters... As I did for Coloradans recently... But Cali has been this way far too long, the liberalism far too ingrained, and the government far too looney.

It's, for me a "states' rights" thing. That said, the elected are only preforming one half of their duty. They are representing the majority of the people.... But they are not protecting the rights of the minority.

At some point, in Cali, and perhaps even in the remainder of this country, those who own firearms will be considered a legitimate minority... and their rights will be protected.

I remember some line I think I heard similar to "these colors don't run." I understood that to mean that Americans don't run away from a fight. Just because an entire state has joined the federal government in seceding from the United States of America doesn't mean surrendering our territory by moving away.

Stay and fight for Liberty. The big fights in Californication Nation are out of reach for now, so Americans need to start chewing away at the foundations of progressivism in small bites. Harass the progs everywhere you find them. Start with your local school boards. There's a long road ahead, so dig in and seize whatever victories you can find. God Bless.

When the anti gun bills were issues about to hit Colorado Governor Hickenlooper's desk we got support in the form of letters to the legislators from around the country including California. I'll return the favor even though it seems futile. As long as there are pro 2A people there we shouldn't ignore their appeal for support and just cede the territory to the scoundrels.
