Now comes the latest gun-grabbing set of liars. Check-out their ridiculous website, which claims that ARPA is a "common sense set of hunters and target-shooters" who want to be "a third voice" in the gun debate. The web page asks you to sign-up. There is no article or link that actually tells you who they are or why they want your name and email. The site offers absolutely nothing. Noted in this month's "First Freedom."

Link to the Free Republic Post by pabianice: "American Rifle and Pistol Association" -- the new name for Handgun Control, Inc.

My question: Does anyone have some information on this group?

I called the number listed on the whois information to ask about the group and was promptly hung up on.

    From their FAQ:

What does R+P think about ammunition magazine capacities?

R+P believes that firearms systems capabilities should be governed by the free marketplace. There is a reason why some tactical close quarters combat arms (a.k.a. “scary black rifles”) come standard with 30 round magazines and not 10 round magazines, nor 50 or 100 round magazines. Other sized magazines may be commercially available for a specific weapon, but the designers of these weapons, and more importantly, the professionals in law enforcement, security, competition marksmen, and those in the armed forces who regularly use them, choose to use those features for objective, scientific, logistical, and physiological reasons related to the observance of well-established Best Practices. Conversely, the government setting capricious limits on ammunition capacities is both illogical as well as demonstrably ineffective in addressing any gun-related issue or improving public safety.

    -------------------------

Where does R+P stand on the Second Amendment?

R+P is strongly in support of each American’s Second Amendment rights to keep and bear arms (as was affirmed by the SCOTUS in Heller and McDonald). Moreover, R+P believes that the Second and Tenth Amendment make it clear that it is not the jurisdiction of the federal government to infringe upon the firearm rights of law abiding Americans – rather, it is the federal government’s job to ensure that the States do not violate its citizen’s constitutionally protected rights.

“A new gun advocacy group calling itself a ‘responsible’ alternative to the National Rifle Association is launching July 4 – and it hopes to attract gun owners across the political spectrum,” usnews.com reports.

    Let’s start with chairman Peter Vogt . . .

According to his Facebook page, Mr. Vogt is formerly of Stamford, Connecticut, now of Austin, Texas.

..................BTO a “highly advanced Cloud Solutions Provider, providing end-to-end Web 3.0 IT transformation solutions & services to the Fortune-1000, Energy and Healthcare.”

CEO Waylan Johnson is an oil man, also CEOing for the Texas Energy Group. American Rifle and Pistol’s President and mouthpiece is Robert Gelinas, another high-tech liberal, the CEO at the Google search-shy AppXoft. He’s also the man behind ArcheBooks Publishing, a vanity publisher with a distinct preference for its owner’s manuscripts.

Gelinas’ Linked In profile proclaims: “R+P is the Voice of mainstream gun owners. It exists to promote SANE gun ownership and firearms management. SANE = Safety, Advocacy, Networking, and Education.”

.............I only wish the NRA was faster on its feet instead of living in no comment Check-with-the-Committee Land. Then again GOA, SAF, NAGR and the rest are genuine grass roots groups who aren’t afraid to denounce the false flaggers, like R+P.
    Figures. Austin.........

@ Rock and Glock. You beat me to the more intensive internet search. Too much work with this Gov shutdown. The Commander In Chief - House (CINC-House) expects for me to accomplish chores today instead of spam the interwebs.....................

Austin immediately got my attention............. Austin seems to be where the whackos of San Fran FreakShow and Denver vacation................................

I just read a interview conducted by R+P with chairman of R+P Peter Vogt letting him explain how he is not a member of MAIG ,but he is against illegal guns.I think I have seen enough already, anybody that is the chairman of a supposed 2A pro website that agrees with Bloomberg on any level cannot be trusted......after all there is no such thing as an illegal gun only people doing illegal things with guns.

They are bad guys - don't give them your email address, or anything else!

Read the post by paaiyan above with quotes from their Q&A pages - sounds like the bummer when he was running for election AND re-election, doesn't it?

I saw some questions about them on another site. Conclusion was that they are NOT your friend! Thinly disguised anti gunners posing as your best bud. Allegedly of course.
