And that's how it works people: Relentless pushing of 10 to 20 ridiculous gun laws and out of those, one is passed. Repeat until all is lost.

Let deer hunters take a season or two off, and the tree huggers will be begging them to take up hunting, again.

test the Condors in a year and see if their lead levels have risen...I'm going out on a limb to say the have NOT. This is going to also be a nail in the coffin for some mountain communities who survived on hunting season and sportsman shooters. But then again....that's probably what the CA and Feds want-Agenda 21.

It will just have SOME ammo manufacturers making bullets made out of other materials, then , of course selling them at astronomical costs, thereby eliminating those who do not/can not afford to play.

    Same old crap.
pass legislation, people get fed up, stop hunting, wildlife population rises exponentially, then with people complaining, government hires controlled/contracted hunters(I.E expensive) to thin herd using even more precious tax resources from an already over taxed populace.
    Ain't government wonderful folks?

good he vetoed the semi-auto ban .... they had to know that would have gone to the courts, and if lost in the courts, could come back telling them they couldn't ban AR's either. Some may not have wanted to take that chance.

The lead ban, is baloney. I don't think kids in California are eating Condors, are they ? Nor, do I believe that is coming from any hunting..... studies show more lead is coming "naturally" from normal food sources... that is not impacted by hunting at all.

So does this mean the cops will have to find non-lead options? With the zero Police budgets of most communities, this will be a death throw...

Are cops and the military except? I did not read where they would be...

Armor Piercing OK for cops but no one else?

Unknown, but apparently they have a hankerin' for lead wadcutters.

Perhaps these liberty-haters know something we don't. Perhaps they only need to unhitch the knickers a few notches. Of course, they certainly need to re-read the U.S. Constitution they swear to do (unless in CA the swearing is for something else, on swearing-in day).

CA Fish and Game Commission has over a year and a half to even write the regulations that direct hunters how to comply with the law that, itself, is may take up to 5 years and nine months from now, July 1, 2019 to implement.
Under US Fish and Wildlife, there has been a nation-wide ban on lead in waterfowl hunting since 1991. Most states also regulate lead ammo. And I believe that this junk science is soon coming to a state very near you.
Interestingly, CA AB 711_2013, the lead ban bill, authorizes the CA F&G director to suspend lead bans from this bill if the US government ever bans non-lead ammo as armor piercing.

Nothing new banning lead. The Army was forced to go to the green bullet a while back, lead free.
Bismuth has been used as a replacement for lead for some time in shot gun shells .
On the periodic table Bismuth is just below lead. While a pain in the back side we will work around it.

Most states also regulate lead ammo
I do not believe that "most" states regulate lead ammo.

While some of the socialist states might, they are still in the minority.

I question the sanity of anyone that thinks banning lead is going to make one iota of difference in wildlife. Most lead that is ingested is naturally passed out. Of course, high speed lead projectiles can still be lethal.

The goal here is not to protect wild life. That is but a ruse used to convince people that aren't smart enough to figure out that is just another way of controlling something.

The real goal is to remove lead so that reloaders will be severely hindered and cannot cast lead bullets, thus making them immune from market conditions or other government sanctions against ammo. When most people were screaming like babies about the ammo shortages, reloaders were still casting lead bullets and shooting where others were afraid to use up their stash of ammo.
