My Comments: I'm just throwing this out there. At what point do we create too many groups that just dilute our collective efforts, or is this a good thing that needs to be done to put a lazer focus on 2A Rights? Note: I am not associated with this group. First I've seen of them. I guess I should have started a DC Poll, but I've never done one. Anyone what to start a DC Poll on this, go right ahead.

........Armed Citizens United is committed to lobbying, organizing, informing and empowering American citizens so that we, together, can push back the tide of anti-gun legislation.

We also see a need to focus on our youth who are the future of our country. We must educate them and empower them to carry on the fight for liberty after our time has passed. We must instill in them our values and the understanding that our rights are not commodities to be traded away or bartered with.

Our goal isn’t just to fight new legislation, but to also begin the fight to turn back laws already on the books that we believe infringe on our Constitutionally protected rights. Laws like the Hughes Amendment that has been ignored by other pro-gun groups.

I definitely like their stated goal of actually getting the ridiculous gun laws we have now, to include the machine gun ban, off the books. Even if they aren't effective on that front all on their own, maybe the "competition" will force the larger groups like the NRA into addressing things like that as well. It seems to me, at least at the federal level, the current crop of pro-gun lobbyists is more focused on just playing defense. I'd like to see us go on the offensive here.

IF I could afford a machine gun, I couldn't afford the ammo to enjoy it. But I'd like to be able to buy one without all the fees and hoopla.

But without all the unconstitutional restrictions, I'd bet prices would be far lower than now, obviously so for the arms themselves but very possibly for ammo as well. That said, I know what you mean. All it takes is 60mins at a local "machine gun shoot" to teach one the meaning of the term "pauper."

I have been screaming and shouting this for years, WE CAN'T WIN ALWAYS ON DEFENSE!!!! We have to go on offense as well, both in the political arena and our efforts to influence the public in a positive manner towards firearms and firearm ownership.

Defensive steps merely stops what's coming temporarily, maybe. Unless engaging in Offense as well, we'll never turn the tide with youth, newbie shooters (ie, take an anti to the range and turn them), bringing a new hunter into the fold, showing folks the ins and outs of carry, openly carrying to show 'upstanding' and 'citizen' and 'armed' can go hand in hand. Absolutely.

Here's the problem: We (gun folks) are reactive. That means defensive. Just like the first word of this website.

They (decidedly NOT gun folks) are offensive. Like football, they call a play, take the snap, and begin that play. We (on defense) must react to that play as it unfolds.

You cannot win a game with a strong defense, but no offense. Trust me. Miami Dolphins fan for 36 years. Takes guts to admit that these days.

As with Miami, it's time for a strong offense. I'm in.
