My Comments: Sink your teeth into this one. The Anti-2A can only lie large to even gain a foothold on the argument.
Firearm-related deaths among children have decreased since the mid-1990s, but new research heralded by gun control supporters claims the opposite. A research abstract entitled United States Childhood Gun-Violence – Disturbing Trends, presented during the American Academy of Pediatrics National Conference & Exhibitions by physicians Arin L. Madenci and Christopher B. Weldon, claims that from 1997 to 2009, in-hospital deaths of children resulting from gunshot wounds increased nearly 60 percent, and hospitalizations of children for gunshot wounds increased 80 percent.
Predictably, gun control advocates and their allies in the media have taken the researchers' claims as the gospel. With its usual degree of precision, MSNBC reported that the "[n]umber of American children who have died from guns has spiked 60% in a decade."
The study in question uses data from several editions of the Kids’ Inpatient Database (KID), which contains information on only pediatric hospitalizations. However, data reported by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) show that firearm-related deaths among persons aged 0-14 years actually decreased 39 percent from 1997 to 2009, and decreased 45 percent if the trend is carried through 2010, the most recent year for which data are available.
One glaring mistake in the study's abstract, is that it fails to stipulate what ages it includes in its definition of "children." <------YES, THEY INCLUDE 18 Year Old Gang Bangers and Drug Runners as 'CHILDREN'.

I'm just a spoke in the wheel but not a big deal.
America...a Constitutional Republic. NOT a democracy as the liberals would have us believe.
PANTS UP DON'T LOOT!!....A Kentucky Rifle behind EVERY BLADE OF GRASS!!
You know that look women give you when they want some sugar? Me neither
At least they're not including the 19-25 yr olds anymore - little bit of progress.
Anti-gunners can't be dissuaded with ACTUAL facts. They prefer to make up their own statistics.
Know Guns, Know Safety, Know Peace.
No Guns, No Safety, No Peace.
I understand they like inflated statistics if it supports their cause, but I must admit, I'm tired of 'news' sources having agendas. I'd love for a completely impartial news source to spring into being.
I feel like most people would understand the fallacy of counting gang-bangers and young criminals in their mid to late teens as part of a statistic about children - IF they knew it was being counted.
Liars figure ... and figures lie. Or, they can, easily. All to easy to manipulate things, without understanding the truth underlying the "study" and without reporting where the numbers came from.
Good catch, BFA.
Since the current great AWG (Manmade Global Warming Scam....................) Peer reviews don't mean squat anymore........... follow the $$$

This just shows that gun grabbers are willing to do anything that they possibly can to trick people into believing that guns are evil and need to be taken out of society.
Every time they resort to lies like this it is further proof that they are unable to genuinely make their case. We have to call them on it every single time and spread the word.
It'd be nice if they included some citations.
Posting from my phone, I blame all typos on Swype.
Right after sandy hook, a lot of us acted amazingly well. Especially in light of the vile names, and nonsense accusations that the anti gun people applied to everyone who pretty much ever touched a gun.
I know a number of us attempted to simply provide facts about guns on huffington post. On the appropriate threads, of course.
On the SIMPLEST OF THINGS, things that that was no disputing, we were called liars, and much worse. If they said clip, and you pointed out that it was not a clip, but a mag, you would be called a liar by almost all of them.
It actually got ridiculous. Ie "Uh, ARs dont use clips. They use mags". Response: "Yeah. Like Im going to fall for that. I know what Im talking about! So why dont you tell us why all the experts call them 'clips"?
The weirdest thing to me was when overnight, the all gun owners started getting called "NRA killers", and "NRA Murderers". The latter seemed the most popular.
Like I said at the start of this post, almost all the gun people acted very well, and were unbelievably restrained...for the first month or two. BUT, after a couple of months of hearing "NRA KILLERS", and constant taunts about "small anatomy", and figuring out that we were facing fanatics who even wanted to ban duck guns, most of us had had enough, and started swinging back.
They started overplaying their hands. "Regular folks" got tired of the over emotional, and over the top appeals that they made, and they also turned a lot of people off when hunters and the like figured out that what these people really wanted was to ban every gun. Even THEIR HUNTING GUNS! Lol.
The gun grabbers borrowed a page from "The Shock Doctrine", and struck when all of us were torn up over the sandy hook thing. They obviously took down off the shelf an old weapons ban proposal, and just dusted it off.
They lied like Hello, and hopefully, its catching up with them now, but a following example will illustrate how difficult it is to undue a lie;
Remember some years back about hearing how on Super Bowl Sunday that wife beatings, or domestic assaults went up dramatically? The networks even ran public service announcements urging men to restrain themselves on that day and not beat their wives or girlfriends.
It was 100%, totally made up. Some feminist group just made that it all up. No one checked it out. Everyone accepted it as fact.
And to this day, I bet finding out that that is not true will shock most of you. Because everyone just accepted it as true.
Its the same way with the gun grabbers made up stuff, Im afraid. Heck, they wont even believe you when you tell them its not a clip, its a mag.
