Ohio Members: Your Help Is Needed

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Ohio Senate will be conducting their over ride vote of Taft's veto of HB 347 tomorrow. The vote is going to be VERY close. We should have enough votes, but supporting an over ride vote is a different animal. Things can change.

We are encouraging everyone to call your state senator tomorrow. This is our chance to pass a good gun bill this year. By doing so, we can work on other pro gun laws instead of starting over again with CCW reform.

The Buckeye Firearms Association has identified 3 senators that are on the fence on how they plan to vote. We really need to get them to vote our way. If you live in their district, it is very important that you call! If you cannot call, send an email. However, calls have a bigger impact, but everything counts.

    The three senators are:

33rd District: Senator Robert F. Hagen
    614-466-8285
    haganoffice@maild.sen.state.oh.us

13th District: Senator Jeffry J. Armbruster
    614/644-7613
    SD13@mailr.sen.state.oh.us

    4th District: Senator Gary Cates
    614-466-8072
    SD04@mailr.sen.state.oh.us

PLEASE call tomorrow BEFORE 12:30 and ask them to support HB 347 and to over ride Taft's Veto.

If you are not sure if you are in their area, you can findout who your senator is here: http://www.senate.state.oh.us/senato...ZipSearch.html

    Thank you in advance,

    The Buckeye Firearms Association

I wish you all luck and success!

Rights that are equally applied to all citizens across the state ... particularly when lives are on the line. The governor has shown his colors, alright. Hopefully the state senators will smell the coffee and stand by the side of justice for the citizens and their rights to defend their lives, in this case. Wouldn't that be nice.

The Buckeye Firearms Association is happy to announce that the state senate has voted to over ride Governor Taft's veto of HB 347! We would like to thank everyone for all of their hard work and support. This proves that the gun vote matters, and how powerful the grassroots movement is. Our official announcement is below. THANK YOU!

    Senate overrides Governor's Veto of H.B. 347

On December 12, 2006, the Ohio Senate voted to override Governor Taft's veto of H.B. 347 by a vote of 21-12. The House previously voted 71-21 to override Governor Taft's veto. House Bill 347 has now passed into law with an effective date in approximately 90 days, depending upon the exact filing and certification dates. This vote is believed to mark the first joint override of an Ohio Governor's veto since the mid-1970s.

Great news for the 2nd Amendment in general and for Ohio in particular.

It's also super news for me living 25 miles from the Ohio border.
