Absolutely nothing coming out of that state would surprise me. Well if any pol out there exhibited even the slightest bit of "common sense", now that would be a surprise.

De Leon said he is trying to address a twin threat from what he called "ghost guns" — plastic guns that can evade metal detectors and unregistered weapons that can fall into the hands of people who are legally prohibited from owning firearms under state law.

"Currently, no one knows they exist until after a crime has been committed," said de Leon, a leading candidate to take over as Senate leader next year.

However, while there had been talk by federal lawmakers and some state legislators of trying to restrict the posting of weapons plans on the Internet, Griffin said he knows of no such legislation being introduced and said it would likely run into free speech protections.
HOW about Shall Not Be Infringed "protections" - that would be GREAT

They are after the 80% gun builds not the 3d printed guns it is a slight of hand move. The Democrats will have a super majority and they want 80% builds controlled. Right now you cn buy a 80 lower complete the machining which is very simple and you have a legal weapon with no serial number and it makes them crazy.

Flphotdog the following is for you. Californornia had a large role in getting a right to carry case in the courts after Heller was decided at the Supremem court as well as a recent decision against the Los Angeles county sheriff Lee Baca. But don't let facts get in the way of your comments.

Based on data from the California Department of Justice and other government sources, the Foundation’s reports show an increase of nearly 30,000 handgun carry licensees since it began efforts to make California “shall-issue” in May of 2009, when it and the Bellevue, Washington-based Second Amendment Foundation filed the first “right to carry” lawsuit in the nation since the United States Supreme Court’s historic D.C. v. Heller decision in 2008. CGF noted that it is currently awaiting a decision by the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in its federal Second Amendment carry lawsuit Richards v. Prieto, the filings for which can be found on CGF’s online Wiki at Richards v. Prieto - Calguns Foundation Wiki.

The Lu v. Baca decision can be viewed or downloaded at The Calguns Foundation Wins Handgun Carry Lawsuit Against the Los Angeles Sheriff?s Department and Sheriff Lee Baca | Calguns FoundationCalguns Foundation.

I wonder how many crime scene weapons recovered had 3D printed receivers and amazon bought parts on it. It's so much more trouble building a gun than to simply steal one or buy it off the street.

It is time to seriously begin charging anyone who attempts to deny or restrict a lawful citizen their Civil Rights, in any manner, with 'TREASON'.

The Socialists and Communists in this 'Constitutional Republic' have an entire planet of Nations to choose from, with their Marxist &/or Commie Paradises already in place.

I hear Cuba is lovely this time of year.

What, did someone do it in a movie so now it's an outbreak?

So when a gun is used in a crime that has the serial number obliterated, how different is that?

    More legislation = less results.

Frankly I think that everything we don't know about that could be used in a crime should be illegal. It's just common sense.
I have a very strict gun control policy: if there's a gun around, I want to be in control of it.

Didn't you know that using firearms causes global warming? Excuse me - I mean climate change. Or is it global cooling? I'm so easily confused.
