BREAKING: Smith & Wesson M&P Pistols to Fall Off CA DOJ Approved List

"Hot on the heels of Rugerís announcement that it will allow all of its pistols to fall off the California Department Of Justice approved list, ending Rugerís pistol sales in the Golden State, Smith & Wessonís taking their M&P pistols off the menu. Guns Direct Facebook page let slip news of [what is in effect] a manufacturer boycott: ďAttention: California gun owners. Smith & Wesson Corp. just informed us that all the M&P pistols will be falling off the Ca DOJ list of approved handguns in the next 60 days. So if your [sic] thinking about one, now is the time.Ē Ruger stopped sales claiming they could not satisfy the CA DOJís microstamping requirement. As of yet thereís no official statement from Smith."

Pretty soon CA will only have ghost guns.

That's appropriate, it's been a shell of itself for quite some time now.

Uhm, no. The M&P 9 is on the roster until at least July and the 40 though September. They may not renew them, but if you can find them we have at least until then.

While it doesn't fair well for gun buyers in CA. It probably fits right in with the anti gun agenda of the state government.

Good, maybe this will prod the California public to stand up against civilian disarmament.

California uses this to make money- a hidden tax. And as per usual the law of unintended consequences comes to play. Gun makers decide not to pay the tax so an increase in taxes = less revenue. Love it when a plan comes together! It is just starting.

Unfortunately, most politicians in California would be very happy if no guns or ammo were for available sale in the state.

Violation of gun rights, & high state taxes would be enough to make me

I'd like it even more if Ruger and S&W followed the Ronnie Barrett lead and refused to service guns in any sector of the CA government, until the state stops disarming law-abiding citizens.

I think this is great. I feel terrible for my California neighbors, but for some this will really light a fire and a push to reform their current gun laws.

    - That's really what needs to happen. If you're already going to lose civilian sales, what difference does lost sales to Government and State really make?

I grew up in the bay area of California. Since relocated to Reno, NV. Californians are angry about a lot of things, the economy is terrible, there are more on government assistance than there are not now. Businesses are leaving by the droves, relocating to Arizona, Washington, Oregon, Wyoming etc. The cost of living is insanely high. Their real estate market was the hardest hit. If you look on the Calguns forums many have left or are considering leaving. California prides itself on being "tolerant" but they are not tolerant of anybody that does not think like California. They are slowly ensuring their own economic collapse, because if anything the California government is exceptionally greedy. Eventually a mixture of economic hardship, high taxes, and loss of individual rights will collapse the state. It is good that firearm companies are boycotting the state, it will allow for a jettison of all the anti politicians and hopefully will start to reverse the craziness.

I think what is ongoing is, the Manufactures are going to boycott the State, and with that, maybe, just maybe, the PEOPLE of the State will finally try to oust these nutjobs who are in the Legislative positions. That's my take on the reason why Ruger and S&W are pulling sales to CA/

For those of you who do not know about CA (Garry S. can correct me if I am incorrect in this post), CA extorts Weapons Producers for every even slighly different variation on a firearm to extort money for registering that SPECIFIC firearm as CA Safe.

The CA DOJ is just another Racket and should be investigated. Just my opinion............................
