I don't know that I have much of a problem with this. Is the restaurant marked with gun buster signs? I avoid fast food so I don't know if they are signed up around here or not...

I guess why I don't have so much of a problem with this is they are probably just trying to avoid any legal complications if some idiot used their internet to look up how to make IEDs or something. They can't exactly cherry pick what they block or don't, so generic 'weapons' seems pretty logical to me.

What would be interesting, and might give you some idea if it's political, rather than legal, in nature is see what they will allow you to search for. If they block everything that might be questionable, then I can't say it's all that bad...

This must also be a local thing for that and certain other BK's. I've used the free wi-fi at our local one here with no problems.

I was out of town for work a couple of weeks ago and the only restaurant nearby was a Bob Evans. Stopped there for breakfast and free WiFi. It was funny. This site was blocked as being firearm related but I was able to download a podcast from the Gun Talk Radio site. Go figure!

    Probably a franchise specific issue.

While Burger King isn't my restaurant of choice, they pay for the wifi--they can do as they please. It's not the freeloaders' choice.

Buy something off the dollar menu,
and expect free Air Conditioning, clean restrooms,
    AND free unfettered, unfiltered internet..

Did it block you from DC?

It is free wifi after all. Seems like there's a gun-buster sign on their internet as well. Well within their rights to do so. Sucks they do it on a public feed though. I understand company's that restrict access to certain sites on company supplied internet to decrease drops in productivity.

If he's expecting all that, he's definitely in the wrong place.

A business chooses to offer free wifi to it's customers, and you think this makes said customers freeloaders? So when a customer get's up for a free refill, or a free condiment, or let's their kid play on the free play-area, or watches the flat-screen in the side dining area, you must think that's freeloading too.

I don't think you know what a freeloader is.
