Really, if they know where to mail their letters, what was the point of all this? Apparently, they already know who owns what and where.

Maybe they think if they ask again, they'll get a different response. Not likely.

Well Airslot I'm sure there aren't that many of us here that think politicians are all that intelligent in the first place. If they were they'd get a REAL JOB working somewhere else.

Now as to my comment about politicians by and large not being the smartest apples on the produce truck I need to say this.

Trey Gowdy. Not the average politician. I wouldn't even class him that way. From what I've seen and heard of Mister Gowdy he is a Statesman. I would like to know his background tho. I mean how he got into politics. I have a feeling he got tired of the status quo and ran against a bum and got elected and it just snow balled from there. I wish Trey Gowdy was my guy in my district and my state. Tho if he was he might not last as long as he has cuz there is a ship load of idiots in my state. They're centered in the Seattle Everett Tacoma areas. Mind you now there's plenty in my town proper but you go upriver or out of town a few miles and the loonies get scarcer than hens teeth.

Anyway I am glad the Connecticut gun owners have collectively told the state to shove off. I hope they press on and continue to stand resolute against the State and The Man.

Its a trial balloon. Said "officials" are having a hard time 1 believing that because they said so does not automatically mean most will give up an inalienable right or have it infringed on and 2. a hard time backing down without issuing another ultimatum or two they and everyone else knows they cannot back up.

From what I remember the letters were sent to people who sent in letters for the purpose of registering their guns but missed the date by one day or the silly such ... Though some have claimed alleged FFL records are being kept

here is the letter in question CT letter.png

if this turns into a CA sks m/d situation it should be good ..... I know a lot of people in CA who got pretty freaked when the cops showed up from some other issues ( burglary/car issue etc) and said oh you're John Smith you own a AUG a AR15 etc ... Lot of guns got sold I think after 1989 and 2000...

CT is worst as it is about the only state to not only have until the date of ban no mag limits but also to require all over 10 mags to be registered which I would guess could number into the thousand or 10s of thousand of papers .. They may have bit too much off of the apple this time I am afraid.

They are just setting the stage for a phase 2. They may or may not take further action, but any letters sent are meant to provide 'fair warning' for further action.

The bottom line is that this is turning into a nightmare for CT. The mindless idiots in the legislature assumed that everyone would comply willingly - who could possibly oppose their edict to make the state safer? They cannot even comprehend the mindset of the independent individual.

The response to the law and their obvious lack of a backup plan demonstrates that they never even considered this sort of backlash.

The oppressors who think their local laws trump the constitution, the supreme law, are trying to intimidate and scare the patriots into compliance. Good luck with that. I wonder if these legislators who are going to start a war, think that the war will stay away from their doorstep.

As Ben Fraklin said " if we do not all hang together surely we will all hang separately. I wonder how this mess will be resolved. The legislature looks stupid now but how would they look if the state tries to jail all these people.I won't use felon because I don't beleive it fits.

I foresee the CT freedom-haters making an example out of one person and prosecuting him (or her).

It would be a scare tactic to prompt all gun owners to comply with the Nazi-like legislation they passed.

After that, they will begin encouraging (or rewarding) people to rat on neighbors and family members.

Only need to seize weapons from several "lawbreakers" in and prosecute them in very public manner to bring others in line.

This is nothing new. Been going on for centuries, and perhaps millennia.

I am GREATLY bothered by the Governor there. Over & over again he has injected his ego into this. He seems to take non compliance as a personal affront.

That aint good. Not at all.

    I am too, StormRydr.

Malloy's comment (your side lost- get over it) is very disturbing. Actually, his whole thought process is extremely disturbing.

We'll see what happens in 2014 as a floundering Malloy will be going up against gubernatorial candidate Joe Visconti.

If you all want to help get this communist scum-bag out of office, now is the time to step up and contribute what you can to Joe Visconti's campaign.

Step it up a notch and encourage all of your friends and family to support Visconti.

The challenge this time around is that the 'lawbreakers' can't be hung in the streets. My guess is that there will be a number of attorneys seeking out those first few. This case, should it happen, makes national headlines.

If the state decides to go that route, they had better be careful with who they choose. Take a family person, a pillar of the community, etc. and the backlash could be even worse.

This is taking a bad position and making it worse.

This is the perfect analogy, The gun owners in that state need to be organized and stick together or they will be picked off one by one like they did in CA. Any time a cop had a reason to be in your house, OH look here an illegal gun! Your neighbor or exwife wants to get at you, OH look here a stash of illegal mags!

At the first confiscation CT gun owners need to come out in mass. Their is power in numbers. DR
