What Martin Niemoller said after surviving 7 years in Dachau, sounds eerily like today's attacks on the 2nd amendment. We must remain vigilant, continue to educate our legislators, and work toward supporting those legislators who support the 2nd Amendment .
First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out--
Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out--
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out--
Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me--and there was no one left to speak for me.
To paraphrase Herr Niemoller;
First they came for the "assault weapons," and I did not speak out-
Because I was a hunter.
Then they came for the "high capacity" handguns, and I did not speak out--
Because no one needs that many bullets.
Then they came to register all guns, and I did not speak out--
Because it was "for the children."
Then they came for our guns--and there was no one to stop them.

Still can spell it out for most people, and they can't/won't/don't get it.
As long as it isn't their ox being gored, the don't give a damn.
Same as going down the freeway, seven other cars are going as fast as you are, cop is running radar, pulls out and gets behind one of the other cars, pulls him over, and you say under your breath, "better him than me"
I would rather die with good men than hide with cowards
If you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans
Don't ever think that the reason I'm peaceful is because I don't know how to be violent

Yep!!! I've used a modified version of his observations to point out the same thing many times. It doesn't persuade the antis, but it sometimes resonates with the fence sitters and people who say they support the 2A but also support certain gun control measures. It gives them a historical perspective in which to frame the real issue. Great job!!!
Know Guns, Know Safety, Know Peace.
No Guns, No Safety, No Peace.
