I wonder if this is because of the article I read where she mentioned getting in so much trouble for a "minor" mistake when the same prosecutor did nothing with Ray Rice (and he had the video)? Either way, I am glad for her and her family. But ignorance of the law is no defense. I travel state to state, and I ALWAYS check and double check the laws so I don't do something illegal.

The charges should have been dropped without a doubt. What is even worse the piece of crap McClain could have put her in this program before now.I can't even imagine how she felt, knowing she was facing over 3 years in jail.

Well, I'm not sure about the "good guys" scoring, but it is a good step towards some justice, fairness, and common sense. I am sure the national media scrutiny and public reaction to the dichotomy between Shaneen and Ray Ray didn't hurt either.

So, after she lost her job and had her electricity turned off NOW they do what they should have done in the first place - since the LEO didn't have the decency to give her a warning and let her go!!!!

She should send Ray Rice a thank you letter.

It's unfortunate that you have to shame people into doing the right thing. This DA in Texas would have run out of the state.... This is what you get with liberals who put political agenda first.

She only had the Bersa for one week. She had not even had a chance to fire it yet. Her pistol was key locked when it was being transported. I would not call that carrying. I am glad for the diversion, but she already spent 46 days in jail!

I think Gov Christie has thoughts about the White House, and he realized that this case would be political suicide for him in the Republican primaries...so he had a come-to-Jesus conversation with his acting State AG, who told the DA to back off.

In any case, this is a good thing. Especially considering this is the PRNJ we are talking about.

I don't have the energy to protest and get outraged. I'll just stay away from any coast North of the Mason Dixon line.

Sounds to me like the DA couldn't stand the heat he was taking over it and found a way out without losing too much face.
