I've never seen one in the restaurant where this shooting took place.

(Brady Bunch Mode)"See - if they'd posted a sign, the shooting never would have happened. Criminals are very careful to obey signs!" (Brady Bunch Mode off) ((washing hands))

Signs forbidding guns carry little weight in Florida. There's no statutory obligation to comply with such a sign.

I would have shot one of them. Chances are, the others would have fled.

Likely, there was a sign, or at least company policy. Didn't seem to stop the criminals, like the Brady Bunch seems to think it will.

Hm. I wonder what the "score" is up to, now? 246,921 instances of criminal robbery of establishments with posted signs since the launching of the B.B. campaign, and not one of those criminals deciding to turn back because of the sign? Yeah: 246291 to 0. Pretty effective, whatever the numbers are.

Can you send me the link for that number, good stuff for our fight!

    Arrow came to her rescue

It was his grand daughter, who had been outside on her cell phone. The BGs had past her entering the place, and when she came back in they thought she had called the police. The girl's father came to her rescue and began fighting with the BGs, who then used a taser on him, at that point the grandfather grabbed a nearby high chair and began beating the BGs, who then shot him in the chest. Amazingly the bullet went completely through him, yet struck no vital areas AND this guy had heart surgery just a few eeks earlier !! He was released from the hospital today. That is one very brave and very tough grand dad.

If at least one person who knew what they were doing and had their CW on them, was nearby, things might have ended differently for these bad guys. Instead of being hit with a chair, the Coroner would be picking the slugs from their dead bodies during their autopsies.

Or at least I'd like to think so. Things are getting nasty around Central FL lately.
Shame that he didn't have a gun.

Not sure I'd wait till they were focused on my and mine. Figure 2 will be down before they know what is happening. Element of surprise would be invaluable but who knows, I'm sitting at a computer, not the IHOP. Need a lot more information. How many had guns in hand? Hands full of tazers don't scare me much from a distance. Save them for last. Unless they are running. Then they get away while I call 911.

Torture is always to intimidate the person getting tortured and whoever else is in the room as witness, and for sadistic pleasure, of course.

A fierce offense is the best defense. It would be my plan to cut the odds as quickly as possible.

It is not because I am brave, just pragmatic.

IHOP = Incidents Happen On Premises. My wife wanted to eat at one the other weekend. My response was no way!

I find supremely ironic that God in his wisdom and grace has given man freedom of choice bounded by 10 simple rules. Man in his finite wisdom has created millions of rules to limit freedom of choice and the personal responsibility of his fellow man.

Wouldn't matter. One guy, four guys come in with guns and actively using tasers, I know exactly how I'd handle it. I'm not taking that lieing down.

My own personal call to action is when any weapon is used, when the BG starts moving people to the back, or If the BG's start separating people. At that point they have gone beyond simple robbery, and I have less to loose by attacking the BG's than by remaining passive. I wont tell others what to do but that's where I start shooting! DR

I saw this on Most Shocking. A daring rescue gone terribly wrong. It just goes to show that daring rescues can come in many forms. In this case, during a robbery.
