Billings, MT, Mayor Allies With Bloomberg
Sad to report that the Mayor (and former police chief) of Billings, Montana, has bought into the anti-gun rhetoric of NYC Mayor Bloomberg, hook, line and sinker.
A dubious honor for the Treasure State, to say the least!

'Tussing said that as a member of a SWAT team in Nebraska, he
was part of a gunfight in which two people fired 28 rounds at law enforcement officers. Tussing said he "took several guns away from people"
but has never shot anyone.'
I wonder exactly what he was doing during that firefight he's so proud of, if not contributing to keeping his fellow officers safe from harm. He seems bright; certainly, enough to appreciate the relative likelihood of taking away a thug's gun vs. actually resisting.
"Just say 'no'" didn't work very well with drugs. Saying "Please, no" in a firefight likely won't work any better. I haven't been able to determine how the Bloomberg-styled restrictions will actually reduce availability of weaponry to criminals but not further restrict the ability of citizens to acquire/defend.

Thoughts: Justifiable self defense.

disarming victims
reduce the number of victims?

Captain Crunch, you may have to change your "Location" tag line...
This is indeed sad. I have a good friend from Montana and have enjoyed visiting Big Sky country. It is indeed one of the last, best places for individual freedoms. It seems the creeping death of un-Constitutional governmental intrusion is making its way there, as well...
A man fires a rifle for many years, and he goes to war. And afterward he turns the rifle in at the armory, and he believes he's finished with the rifle. But no matter what else he might do with his hands - love a woman, build a house, change his son's diaper - his hands remember the rifle.

I agree, It doesn't matter what you say your group is about, It matters what the people "Believe" it's about. I personally don't trust any organization with Bloomberg at the helm, especially after that "sting" crap he pulled, and hopefully will get prosecuted for.

With all the money he has, who holds out any hope that he's going to get prosecuted for that crap?
What government lackey, what lowly assistant district attorney, is going to throw his career away trying to prosecute a guy who could probably ruin him with a note scrawled on a bar napkin?

More BS
If the mayor, governor, president, or any other one of the politicians are all that worried about guns in the hands of bad people, they could easily do something about it: longer sentences and less parole. Fewer felons that are in prison have firearms than those who have been through the revolving door. Felons in prison commit fewer crimes.
But it is probably easier to hassle law abiding, tax paying citizens than people who would shoot you dead for a pair of shoes.

Yes, and what's amazing is that ANYONE in the public, who cares about crime prevention, falls for this kind of b.s. do-nothing ploy and does not recognize the truth of what you said, Ned.
HOW can this kind of thing actually go on, without the public and anyone else inclined to comment just exploding in a torrent of "you gotta be kidding me"?!

Ya know, I have been thinking about this lately, and not just because of that Billings mayor's antics. This state is starting a slow & subtle, but steady shift to the left. The Dems control the House, the GOP controls the Senate, the Governor is a Democrat, the Lieutenant Governor is a RINO. The chances of a Castle Doctrine bill being passed this year is looking pretty slim right now. Ah, but we do have an official State Lullaby, thanks to the gang in Helena.
If I do abandon this state, I think I'll just go about 100 miles due west. For the geographically challenged, that'll put me right smack in the middle of the Idaho Panhandle, around Bonners Ferry.

I hear there's a vacancy on a little ridge over yonder.

If Work Is Not A Problem...
Nothing wrong with a move to a gun friendlier state...

That is happening in most of the western states, which are rapidly becoming "more blue". The big city and suburb liberals are trying to escape the hellholes that they have created on both coasts, by moving to Monatana, Colorado and elsewhere for the scenic beauty and back to nature atmosphere, the problem is that they bring their stupidity with them.
I am speaking with the voice of experience. I live in occupied territory in what was once part of the South, but is now a retirement mecca for northeastern libs.
They make me sick. I know how the Indians must have felt seeing their culture and land being destroyed by people with a diiferent philosophy on how life should be lived.
