Your musket needs to be able to fire a 320 grain bullet. 5.56 probably won't cut it. I guess it's a good excuse to get a .50 Beowulf upper.all muskets from arming the militia as is herein required, shall be of bores sufficient for balls of the eighteenth part of a pound;
Also, when reporting for your militia duty, you are subject to military law. Don't bring hollow points!

Is this law still current or was it repealed at some point in time?
Nevermind, just found it - repealed in 1903
