    Second Militia Act of 1792

I was reading the decision of the court regarding the DC Gun Ban and I came upon this Jewel.

"By the terms of the Second Militia Act of 1792-----------
The act provides that he should "furnish himself with all the equipment of a private in the infantry, untill proper ordance and field artillery is provided" The Act required Militia Men to aquire weapons that were in common circulation and that individual men would be able to employ, such as Muskets, Rifles, Pistols, Sabres, Hangers, etc. but not cumbdrson, expensive, or rare equipment such as cannons."

Now I believe that means each person in the National Militia (all law abiding citizens over 17 years of age) should have in theri possesion the arms of a private in the infantry readily available should the government declare a national emergency and all militia personal report to protect the country.

Therefor; each person should have a at least a AR 15, AK47, SKS, M1A, FAL, or similar type military rifle as well as an appropriate Bayonet or knife. They also should have at least one 20 round Magazine and at least 20rds of ammo.

By the Second Militia Act of 1792, the so called assault Weapons Bans are illeagle.

That is my take as well. How can we provide it if we don't have it?
We will be much better off when we learn to deal with things as they really are, instead of how we wish them to be!

Since third world milltias have access to full-auto weapons, then doesn't that mean we must also have access without raising our hands?

So we are supposed to have everything, until we are restocked by the government. Right?

Saayyy, this could be fun! Imagine informing an anti that he is in violation of federal law by NOT owning an evil black rifle!

I like the way you think ELCruisr. Makes me want to go out and get another evil assault weapon. I am headed to a gun show today. Do you think that my wife would accept the argument that I was just trying to follow federal law? As far as full auto goes, I can’t hit anything on full auto after the first couple of rounds. I put a lot more rounds on target using semi auto then I ever did using full auto.

I went back and was reading more. When a male turns 18 they have to register for the Militia (register for draft) meaning they are available to be called up for the organized Military. This is why even though we no longer draft people they still have to be registered.

The current Congressional definition of the "Militia".
" The Militia of the United States consist of all able-bodied males at least 17 years of age and....under 45 years of age who are or who have made a declaration of intention to become, citizens of the United States and of Female Citizens of the United States who are in the National Guarde."

This is all very interesting stuff.

hmm, very interesting. I was just justifying to my gf why I was had an AR, a shotgun, and 2 pistols. Now I can say I'm required to by the Second Militia Act of 1792.

yeah, but I don't like the age limit, as I just turned 46 (though I did actually attain the rank of sergeant in the active forces)
