As per the following link they rank #27 in the world on Firearms deaths per capita. I'll say not to well considering they have been banned for close to ten years.

Yea. Australia is a sad state of affairs - they have no room to criticize us. Pity. Beautiful country and people otherwise.

At one time I thought if things got too bad here in the USA, I could always move to Australia. Now things are worse there than here.

I guess this is what happens in a country with more sheep (4 legged) than people. Has there been interbreeding or have people there just adopted the philosophy of their wooly friends?

Me too - what a total impudent statement. Like he has all the answers

He is sadly in that category we face so often - where logic long went out the window (or down the septic pipework) - and nothing but nothing will sway the deal at all.

Bigotry? Closed minded? He sure has lost touch with analyzing the broad picture.

    Interesting...

    http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/ar...TICLE_ID=21902

"Britain, Australia top U.S. in violent crime Rates Down under increase despite strict gun-control measures"

Another self-righteous idiot without a clue. The nations with strict gun control all seem to have MUCH more crime than the U.S.- not that that surprises anyone with a brain, or anything...

What saddens me the most is that Australia is one of our best and most trusted allies. They just need to stop pushing their agenda onto us, especially when it doesn't seem to be working too well for them.

Using the data referenced here, while Australia is 27th, the United States is 8th. Just using those numbers, we have no room to criticize them. Those numbers don't tell the whole story, as you would have to look at the trends over the years, and the numbers here represent reported crimes only, which differs by country. The data source is the UN, so it is suspect anyway. But be careful using statistics to support your arguement, as the data you are using supports the other side.
It is what it is - not what you think it should be. Deal with it!
