    PA members - the Bloomberg deal

    Got this from NRA-ILA and to make sure y'all see it am copying here. We need to fight this Bloomberg crap all the way.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    As you know, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg is heading a national
    cabal of anti-gun mayors called "Mayors Against Illegal Guns."
    The main objective of this coalition is to repeal the Tiahrt Amendment.
    This critically important legislation protects the privacy rights of
    law-abiding gun owners, the safety of law enforcement officers, and the
    integrity of criminal investigations by preventing inappropriate and
    public release of confidential firearm trace data except in the course
    of a bona fide criminal investigation.
    Law enforcement has been steadfast in joining NRA in support of
    preserving the Tiahrt Amendment. Both the BATFE and the Fraternal Order
    of Police (which Bloomberg called a "fringe organization") strongly
    support keeping this sensitive data private.
    Bloomberg, however, is undeterred and he is continuing to try to expand
    his anti-gun coalition. In addition to the mayor of York, Pennsylvania
    listed below, who is currently a member of this coalition, Bloomberg is
    increasingly pressuring more mayors in your state to join his efforts,
    engaging in a full court press!
    Mayor of York, Pennsylvania Who Is Currently A Member of Bloomberg's
    "Mayors Against Illegal Guns Coalition":
    John S. Brenner
    Office of the Mayor
    50 W. King Street
    York, PA 17405
    In order to combat Bloomberg's crass, anti-gun efforts, we need your
    help!
    Using the sample text below, we need you to contact Mayor Brenner, who
    has already joined the Bloomberg coalition, and ask him to withdraw.
    AND, we need you to contact your mayor and urge him/her to resist
    pressure to join Mayor Bloomberg's efforts to restrict our rights.
    Working together, we can ensure passage of the Tiahrt Amendment and
    protect the privacy of lawful gun owners and the lives of law
    enforcement.
    Please contact Mayor Brenner, as well as your own mayor TODAY, and
    encourage your family, friends, and fellow firearm owners in
    Pennsylvania to do the same.
    Yours in freedom,
    NRA-ILA
    SAMPLE LETTER TO MEMBER OF BLOOMBERG COALITION
    Date
    Your Name
    Your Address
    Your City, State, Zip
    The Honorable Mayor's Name
    Address
    City, State, Zip
    Dear Mayor XXXXXX;
    As a resident of CITY and your constituent, I strongly urge you to
    reconsider your decision to join Mayor Bloomberg's anti-gun "Mayors
    Against Illegal Guns" coalition, and remove yourself as a member.
    Mayor Bloomberg and his coalition allies have misrepresented themselves
    to the mayors of America and its citizens. This effort is simply another
    attempt to shift blame for violent crime from criminals to law-abiding
    gun owners. This is gun control, not crime prevention.
    Mr. Bloomberg's tactics do not target illegal guns, but rather honest
    citizens and lawful dealers, essentially criminalizing all gun
    ownership. This coalition makes no distinction whatsoever between
    law-abiding gun owners and violent criminals.
    Instead of being a part of a misguided coalition and advocating attacks
    against law-abiding gun owners, I ask you to direct your efforts towards
    strict enforcement of existing laws in our own city to ensure both our
    safety and civil rights.
    Oppose all federal efforts to restrict cities' right to access, use, and share trace data that is so essential to effective enforcement, or to interfere with the ability of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms to combat illegal gun trafficking
    From Bloomies site , vs :
    Law enforcement has been steadfast in joining NRA in support of
    preserving the Tiahrt Amendment. Both the BATFE and the Fraternal Order
    of Police (which Bloomberg called a "fringe organization") strongly
    support keeping this sensitive data private
    .
    Think I'll believe the second one over the first . Especially since Bloomie and his cohorts broke federal laws by making 'straw purchases" .
