    Talking Do YOU "Google?"

Okay if Google is doing this for the RATS and their anti-FREEDOM platform, what are they giving to antigun orgs DIRECTLY? Remember the BAZILLIONAIRE from Oracle.com gave us the newest antigun org called Americans for Gun Safety. That's been a real headache for every gunowner.

Execs, employees gave $463,500 to party, $5,000 to Republicans

WASHINGTON -- With the Internet's No. 1 search engine under fire for playing political favorites with content, a search of Google's political contributions as recorded by the Federal Elections Commission shows a staggering $463,500 went to Democrats in the last three election cycles with a paltry $5,000 going to Republicans.

I think it is time for us to try to identify a new search engine. I stopped using Google News when it became clear that very biased people were writing the headlines.

Are we now supposed to boycott Google or pass additional Campaign Finance Reform to limit Google's contributions to the Democrats?

There are a number of other search engines.
    www.altavista.com
    www.alltheweb.com
    www.webcrawler.com
Those are just a few, and I find that they work better then google anyway.

Google money engine for Democrats only
    That I don't mind.

It's the ranking by "quality" source that gets me. That's a fancy name for the old fashion spike.

Not the first time google boys played with the results, ask people looking for gun info.

    Goo- goo- google, good bye!

My system blocks half of Altavista's initial page when it comes up. My IP blocker and firewall don't like it at all.

A couple of Freepers turned me on to these two. I've been using Clusty for past day and a half and I'm really liking it.

Well this is a good one too, but it also uses "Google."
    METACRAWLER

I'm thinking that any really good search engine will utilize google, but it in and of itself MAY not also have the same political predilictions as google. Links will be it's own, etc.

DOGPILE has always been a great search engine! And as I just said, it doesn't mean that because it uses google it has googles liberal tendencies.

Try this search engine. It's much easier to find what you are looking for.

    I admire the sentiment.

But I don't participate in boycotts.

Okay so we all stop using Google.

And then we all stop buying Leatherman tools because Tim Leatherman supported Kerry.

Then we stop buying Ruger, Smith and Wesson, and Colt firearms because they all caved at some point to the antis.

Then we realize Taurus has caved too and we stop buying that.

Then we stop buying Fords because Ford Motor Company employs somebody that supports gun control.

We should also stop going to the movies.

Then a parent pulls their child out of my class because I don't support gun control.

How far does one entity's influence really extend? When I worked for General Motors everyone was furious at us for buying Superbowl commercial time because of the infamous wardrobe malfunction.

Has anyone stopped to consider some Google employees might be GOA/NRA members who hate their company's decision?

I work for an organization that supports gun control in an industry that supports gun control. Maybe, just maybe, if I try to work with this system I can try to change that.

Now what happens if all the gunnies pull their kids out of public schools because of the anti CCW legislation we have in place at all school buildings and functions?
