Or hit up FBI's website for rape stats and stats for violent crime against women and just ask him why so many women feel the need to protect themselves from hostile men by carrying a gun. How "scared" and "unmanly", these women!

a little bit I put together for the response

Look at this site for 2005 http://www.disastercenter.com/crime/uscrime.htm

Compare Florida with very liberal gun laws and CCW with Washington DC, with very restrictive gun laws and almost no CCW. Also note Florida trends since 1996 when the laws were the liberal gun laws were enacted.

    Florida
    Washington DC
    Pop.
    17,789,864
    550,521
    Murder
    883
    196
    assault
    88,341
    3971

Pop difference 32.3 (multiple Washington DC pop. by 32.3 to get comparable rates)
    32.3x 550,521
    Murder
    6298
    assault
    128,263
    also:
    Burglaries
    #1 United States:
    2,099,700
    #8 Canada:
    293,416
Multiple the burglary rate by pop. difference you will get 2,347,328
This means you are more likely to get broken into in Canada
Plus you are more likely to get raped in Canada.

Yep, nothing to worry about folks, just go back to eating your fodder.

Interesting in 2000 if our populations were the same

    Murder in Canada 4,430
    Murder in US 15,586

    2005
    Murder in Canada 6,316
    Murder in US 16,692

    US + 1106
Cdn + 1886 (equvilent pop. that is)

I always try to avoid the argument that concealed carry reduces crime. In Kansas only about 1 in 260 adults is licensed, of those not all carry. It seems unlikely to have a dramatic impact on crime as a whole.

Concealed carry is, or should be about personal protection. Any benefit to the public at large should be viewed as collateral. Too many antis will argue that since it doesn't reduce crime, it's worthless; I prefer to make that argument a non-issue.

    Brilliant.

We should all keep this idea in mind.
