Who's the most pro-gun GOP candidate?

I only watched about 15 minutes of the GOP debate last night on Fox News in New Hampshire. I happened to be listening when, I believe it was Wendol Goler, posed the question in regard to the Virginia Tech shooting and their opinion on allowing students to carry guns for personal safety in classrooms, Giuliani got the question and in a classic political move, sidestepped the question and began talking about NYC and his improvements to crime by reducing guns.

Anyway, it got me thinking who is most pro-gun out of the GOP candidates? It's not really a big issue on the national stage and therefore it's less heard of than for instance illegal immigration, abortion, etc.

What says you all?

Ron Paul without a doubt... but he's even less electable than I am, unfortunately.

Both Ron Paul and Fred Thompson are Gun Supporters, through and through, to the core. They both believe that a armed citizen is not a threat to public safety, but an insurance against such a threat.

Sometimes you never really know unless they have a verifiable record. Words mean little. But given those candidates that a chance (above that of slim and none), I'm going with Fred Thompson. Not perfect but better than most of the other likely choices.

That Fred Thompson came out to run; My hunch on the republican ticket:

Fred Thompson, President
Mike Huckabee, Vice President

or vice-versa. Pray this happens if you are a gun owner......

I have to agree that Ron Paul is the strongest "rights" candidate out there. However I do not believe he is a candidate that will even come close. Fred Thompson is good on "rights" but not perfect, and I believe has a real shot (see my signature). The NE candidates will say they are strong on rights, but their records say otherwise.

I looked for Charlton Heston on the list but couldn't find him.

Most Pro-2A: Ron Paul (my vote in this poll since it is only for the biggest 2A supporter)

Most ELECTABLE Pro-2A: Fred Thompson (Sure sounds very pro-2A but lacks the strong Libertarian streak that makes it solid. Still he is the most electable of the bunch that is at least on our side.)

I'm a big Huckabee fan, but I'm also a realist. I think that my dream team is Thompson with Huckabee as veep.

I'm looking to give my vote to the strongest 2A supporter who I consider to be electable. Right now I'm with Fred, but that may change if Paul works his campaign right.

Both Thompson and Paul are Pro 2nd.
