    Moms against guns

Found this in the Philadelphia news media. Any thoughts? Looks like another attempt to restrict the gun owners in Pennsylvania.
The latest group to organize against gun violence in Philadelphia is made mostly of mothers.

And they held a rally Wednesday in Love Park (JFK Plaza), near City Hall.

"Moms Against Guns" is the brainchild of Lynne Honickman (above), a 70-year-old Philadelphia grandmother and philanthropist who became incensed about the ongoing gun violence plaguing the city.

She is attempting to enlist an army of mothers to help get illegal and unregistered guns off the streets:

"If we add to Million Mom March and the Ten Thousand Men and everyone, then we're building a momentum that's going to be deafening."

Honickman's weapon of choice in this battle is the Internet. Her web site is MomsAgainstGuns.org:

"It asks nothing more than you go into your computer, sign a letter that will go to your legislator or senator and you've done it. You've made your voice heard."

I think she should also start a group "Mom's against cars" since teens get killed, injured and paralyzed all the time by them!

    Ridiculous.

They say they're angry about the violence, so why do they single out GUNS?

Why not call it "Moms Against VIOLENCE"?

Answer: because they don't really care about violence, they want control, and they're just another arm of the gun-control / people-control octopus.

Besides, if people really wanted to control violence in Philadelphia, they'd have to do a Bill Cosby. But we can't have that, now can we, because it's racially insensitive.

She should print out her signed letter and hand it to the next BG that beats her down in her own home or mugs her on the street corner...

Does Pennsylvania require guns to be "registered" ?

If not, what is an "illegal" gun ?

    This is what I find ironic. On the facts and stats page on that website it states that ;
"Over 80% of killings in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh are committed with handguns, most often by people with criminal records who are unable lawfully to purchase handguns from a licensed dealer—they instead buy them illegally. "

How in the world could you possibly even fathom that having more strict gun laws would help? The anti's are fishing so deep for more reasons to restrict firearms that they completely contradict themselves. Seems to me if you were trying to keep guns out of criminals hands you wouldn't pass another law. They have got to know that we the pro-gun people know exactly what they are doing. They don't care about saving people's lives, they don't care about stopping crime. They only care about restricting firearms from law abiding citizens.

You don't need to register guns as of now in PA. A bill was introduced in early 2007 though. It is a ridiculous bill. Found out about it here: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1812441/posts

The Gun Registration Act of 2007, House Bill No. 760, sponsored by State Representatives Angel Cruz (D-180), Rosita Youngblood (D-198), Cherelle Parker (D-200), Jake Wheatley (D-19), Lisa Bennington (D-21), and Lawrence Curry (D-154) has been introduced in Harrisburg

Nonsense! GIve her a copy of More Guns, Less Crime

If she genuinely is trying to curb violent crime, the book will turn her around. If she is an Anti using the neighborhood as her soapbox, why give her the time of day?

Anybody bothered to check this lady? She has a foundation in Philly and their website has pictures of events with none other than Bill Clinton. 'Nuff said?
