Unhappy John Edwards on the Right to Bear Arms

“…The Privilege Of The People To Keep And Bear Arms, Shall Not Be Infringed”

    Friday, November 16, 2007

"You may recall that in concluding a YouTube interview last May, the former Senator engaged in a segment called “right or privilege.” During this segment, the interviewer peppered Edwards with a series of questions asking if he considered each a right or a privilege. In response to the proposition of “owning a handgun,” and following a pregnant pause, came the former Senator’s one word answer: “privilege.” Also surprising is what Edwards feels constitutes a “right.” To see the interview, visit"

Lovely. Someone should take away his "privelege" to open his pie hole...
A man fires a rifle for many years, and he goes to war. And afterward he turns the rifle in at the armory, and he believes he's finished with the rifle. But no matter what else he might do with his hands - love a woman, build a house, change his son's diaper - his hands remember the rifle.

Surprised that he believes it? No. Surprised that he said it? A little...

    Surprised? Not really.

Dismayed would be more appropriate - that any person of high office should be so cavalier about our RIGHTs.

I think this highlights a flaw in two of our three branches of government as well as many citizens. Ignorance (or worst, a distain) of the U.S. Constitution.

This guy is slimy; he has no chance. Hillary is a much worse option! We need to really get involved in this next election. I told the wife if the Hildabeast gets elected don't be mad at me because I am going to buy a few more AR's and thousands of rounds of ammo. We got to be ready for the assault weapons ban revival.

Let's keep this discussion on topic, which is John Edwards' stance on the 2nd Amendment and the RKBA.

Everyone should have the "right" to the internet
And the "Right to Bear Arms" should be a privilege

    No offense taken.

We simply discourage political discussions in the forum, except as it relates to the 2A.

I'm glad that I still retain the right to never cast a vote for Pretty Boy Edwards.
And...it's also my personal privilege to ignore him whenever possible.
