This will be tough as these social networking sites have taken a pretty anti stand, even if indirectly. As a result, many pro folks are not encouraged to participate. I added my vote though and it stands at the moment:

The current level of gun control is too much - 39% (3,063)
We need more gun control - 39% (3,047)
The current level of gun control is fine - 20% (1,606)
    Not sure - 2% (187)

The majority of facebook users are highschool and university students who are so liberal....... sorry i was puking.... are so liberal it makes me sick. It's funny that they think they are being progressive in thier hippy ways, but they really arn't. rant over.

Pretty true. Mostly angry liberals who will believe anything they're told. There are a few out there who are not though. I'm actually kind-of surprised that the percentages are as close as they are CONSIDERING the website's main user base. Maybe there still is hope, right?

You've gotta remember with high school & college students, there is an ongoing conflict between what they are brought up to believe at home and what they learn in school. I, for example, turned 18 in 1991, and voted for Clinton in 1992. As I matured and quickly learned how to think for myself while in college, I turned away from the "party line" I got from my schooling, and back toward what I learned growing up. I initially thought I was a conservative, but have come to realize that what I am is a pretty hard-core libertarian (though I don't hold with any of the parties!).

My only point is that it shouldn't be that surprising that a social networking site full of 14-24 year olds could be pretty evenly divided on an issue such as gun control. I know that a few places around the country still teach an actual civics class and some kids actually learn about the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and where our Founders believed our "rights" come from. It's not as hopeless as it seems!

Though I won't deny that it can be pretty discouraging at times...

    I have a facebook account...

    Your Position:
The current level of gun control is too much
    Your statement:
Gun ownership rights are the first rights restricted when a democratic society turns for the worst. You may not need a compelling reason to own a firearm other than the fact that an armed populace is necessary for the security of a free state. Governments cannot be trusted when they disarm citizens.
    Still tied at 39%
