OMG - where does the lunacy stop.

Whatever Daley has been smokin it's time he stopped and got real.

Cook County is, hmmm well - seeming almost a lost cause - another region that is not really the U.S. of A. any more.

Oh, I can understand the reasoning for this, it's right there in the name of the ordinance.
It's the 'Safe Streets/Weapons Registration Ordinance'.
They're jsut making the streets safe.

    What ignorance!

Another thing that gets me is that people now give the term 'assault weapon' to any weapon they want to.
And what's their problem with lasers?

I feel no pain for these folks...they ALL deserve exactly what they 'voted' for...pure and simple!

Didn't the phrase, "Vote early and vote often", orginate in Cook County?

Being from Illinois and at one time being in Cook, let me tell you a few things. For one Cook residences are not "getting what they deserve" as the people in Chicago vote for these loons. Chicago gets what they deserve but Cook extends way past Chicago, however looking at a map of all counties lined out, Cook is in reality very small. Most people in Chicago love daley and don't vote for him based on gun laws as their screwed in that department anyhow. IMO Cook is not exactly the best place to live, I don't live in Cook now and everytime I go back I feel like I'm riding through a dump with rats scurring about.

Right now, other counties are passing resolutions that if Illinois/Cook passes anymore gun bans or laws, it does not pertain to that county. So far the resolutions are passed in the upper 60% of Illinois right now. IMO, Cook sees this and know they can't do anything to Illinois anymore so why not make Cook the worst place for gunowners in the state.

This ordinance is a copy of the Chicago ordinance already going on downtown. Yes its BS and guess what, Cook has a higer crime rate than any other county. This once again shows that Less gun=More crime, and obviously they want it this way AND/OR they have no idea how to handle any crime so they just pass worthless feel-good bans to get more votes and to make it look like your tax dollars acctually do something. The registration is $20 per gun, this is only in place as Illinois has a budget problem. Kind of like a $200 tax on a SBR or AOW, its juast for the money as if it was REALLY dangerous you would not be able to do it at all no matter how much you paid.

People are calling and writing on this one but Cook is crafty as they will re-name the ordinance in the middle of it being voted on, yea its that messed up.
