Bills to prevent gun grabs during disasters

I've noticed that there are several states (Georgia being recent) that have bills on the books to prevent a New Orleans type gun confiscation during distater or times of crisis. Is there a resource or does anyone know if their state has this protection in place?

I have been poking through the firearms laws for MI but can't seem to find anything specific to address this one way or the other. Personally I'm interested in MI and OH.

NRI-ILA is a good source. Gun Owners of America is another.

Subsection (1) does not authorize the seizure, taking, or confiscation of lawfully possessed firearms, ammunition, or other weapons.
Your luck is better that you thought, fries. What Granholm signed into law specifically prohibits the confiscation of legally owned firearms.

Hold on....it says that "Subsection (1) {which in the document describes powers granted to the governor suring such times} does not authorize the seizure, taking, or confiscation of lawfully possessed firearms, ammunition, or other weapons"

I read that as they CAN'T seize your weapons. Good to know.

Edit...ahhh Cupcake beat me to it.

Apparently the rationale behind this type of state law is: authorities who violate the second amendment--part of the highest law in the land--will hesitate to violate the same state-level law...

Its on the NRA website, there's about a dozen states that I could see-WV and LA(they'd be silly not to after Katrina) being among them. You can kind of guess which ones are NOT there..........
"The right of the whole people, old and young, men, women and boys, and not militia only, to keep and bear arms of every description, not such merely as are used by the militia, shall not be infringed, curtailed, or broken in upon, in the smallest degree..."
