A Weston gun-shop owner tipped off the ATF, as required by law, when the men bought multiple handguns in one day.
If you buy multiple handguns in one day they will report you to the ATF? Is this true? Is this just handguns or is it also rifles? Do I have someone watching me now because I bought 3 guns (2 rifles and one handgun) my first day as a gun owner?

The reporting requirement is only for handguns.

I do know that FFLs have to fill out an additional paper when you do a multiple handgun purchase. I'm not sure if they just have to keep it on file or if they have to send it in to the ATF.

It's sent to the ATF, it has to be sent by the end of the business day the purchase is made in. It might be the day after, I can't remember for sure, but it has to go out quick.

And a serious beating in the online comments section.
And as suspected no corrections made about the inaccuracies published in both the Herald or the Nuevo Herald but a anti-gun puff piece by one of the Herald's most liberal columnists. Also, no letters to the editor about the article. Pretty much par for the Herald.
OK, time to get me some coffee.

The Nuevo Herald (Miami Herald's spanish version) also printed the article but they translated assault weapons as Automatic Weapons.
As far as I know that is a correct translation. It is our liberal English speaking media, and the Clinton camp that started calling semi automatic arms assault rifles.
To the best of my knowledge a rifle must be capable of fully automatic fire to actually be defined as an assault rifle. I think all true assault rifles are select fire as well, but I'm not 100% sure about the second part. Weather or not it looks scary isn't a factor in the definition.
