Another Reason for the Second Amendment: BBC Radio 5 presenter threatened with a gun

BBC Radio 5 presenter threatened with a gun when testing safety of Britain's streets

BBC Radio Five presenter Shelagh Fogarty today described her terror at having a gun pointed at her face while filming in Liverpool on Saturday night.

The breakfast show host was taking part in a special programme for the ITV1 Tonight programme to find out how safe Britain's streets are, to be aired tonight.

While filming in Norris Green, an area of her home town Liverpool, a car slowed down as it past her, wound down a window and a gun was pointed directly at her.

She believes had it not been for the sound of a police siren nearby and a CCTV van in the road, she may have been killed.

Shelagh also revealed a gang of 40 thugs pelted her with glass bottles and stones in a frightening attack the previous night.

Well, I see the strict firearms laws continue to work well for the United Kingdom.

Some of the comments reflect that the good people of the UK may be getting fed up. I wonder if it is too late for them?

Wow, no kidding!!! I'm gonna keep checking those comments. Those are some pretty militant remarks considering the usual 'reserved' words you hear from Brits. I wonder if they'd reverse their comments if someone chimed in about self-defense and firearms.

The one comment about the military patrolling the streets has me concerned, though. Pretty Orwellian.

On another note, Sean Bean has a movie coming out on just this subject. From what I understand it was already released in England but is coming here to the big screen:

I wonder how safe she thinks the streets are now that she has done this "testing?"

What's the difference between a minefield without mines and a citizenry without the ability to defend itself? Nothing. They are equally impotent.

A minefield without mines is utterly useless. It only has value when it's capable of doing what it was designed to do. Likewise, a citizenry without the ability to defend itself is merely a flock of sheep, food for criminals. The legislators who foisted the fantasy on the people are, in effect, accessories to murder, assault, rape, kidnapping, carjacking and the like. Dumb x 2.

Last time we did that they dropped them off into the Atlantic...such a waste
Now, we must all fear evil men. But there is another kind of evil which we must fear most, and that is the indifference of good men.

    Wow!

The government really needs to do something serious and pass draconian laws to get rid of these dangerous firearms in Great Britain. Oh, wait a minute. They already have. Never mind.

I don't have even a tiny bit of sympathy for the British - they did this to themselves.

If she was wearing that dress at the time of the incident, she should be arrested.
