    Cool School Vouchers

This to me is just one more reason we should be pushing our legislatures for school vouchers. Last year here in Florida a bill for school vouchers failed by only one vote. Maybe we'll have better luck this year.
Frankly, I'm disappointed in how our public schools have deteriated so. I don't agree in how school administrators, principles, school boards and teachers unions have minimalized the importance of teaching American History, math, sciences, english and competition and are now emphasizing political correctness.
I believe that our public schools are becoming a battleground for the future of America through our children. We either must regain control of our public schools or achieve choice through school vouchers so that public schools will come back to it's senses.

I think it interesting how some of the 45 goals of the Communist takover of America come into play when we speak of our public schools. These goals were read on the floor of Congress on January 10, 1963. Communist Goals - 1963 Congressional Record

    A few are listed below:

    30. Discredit the American Founding Fathers. Present them as selfish aristocrats who had no concern for the "common man."
    29. Discredit the American Constitution by calling it inadequate, old-fashioned, out of step with modern needs, a hindrance to cooperation between nations on a worldwide basis.
    31. Belittle all forms of American culture and discourage the teaching of American history on the ground that it was only a minor part of the "big picture."
    32. Support any socialist movement to give centralized control over any part of the culture--education, social agencies, welfare programs, mental health clinics, etc.
    28. Eliminate prayer or any phase of religious expression in the schools on the ground that it violates the principle of "separation of church and state."
    26. Present homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as "normal, natural, healthy."

It's interesting to note that while Thomas Jefferson was president of the school board, in 1804, Bible reading and the use of the Bible as a textbook was implemented in the first public schools of the District of Columbia. This was two years after 'he wrote the letter to the Danbury Baptists trying to ease their fears that government will not infringe on the rights and freedoms of religion' that the liberal left continues to misquote.

Oh my, how far we have advanced.
And now I'll get off my soapbox.

I'm a HS teacher. I am constantly dispelling myths in class. Just today I had to let a student know that a hollow point bullet is not illegal, can purchased at most sporting goods stores, and will NOT penetrate typical police body armor.

That was minor. I got a little stirred up after the Illinois university shooting and let it slip that I thought that gun ban zones are the biggest socially accepted assault on individual freedom and civil rights since slavery.

    Chicago Schools

Attended those for part of my lost high school education years. Best I changed to private school I left IL many years ago, foresight that it would sink to extreme liberalism.

You are so right. GUN FREE zones simply do not work

Such places are, more specifically, victim disarmament zones. Or, perhaps, criminal empowerment zones.

It is just about the single worst and naive thing that can be done, in the face of criminals and crime. It has no moral basis, no logical possibility of success, and it has a track record bad enough to choke a mule.

I'm glad they pulled the curriculum!! Now...let's see, what else should they pull.....

It is just my conviction that as long as I am alive, my wee ones will never attend a public school. I just can't fathom feeding them to wolves. I know that is a little strong, and it's not directed toward teachers. If parents actually did their job at raising/training their kids, teachers would probably have a much easier time!

Sad facts. The thing I worry about? What our school systems are NOT TEACHING THEM IMO--public schools have turned into programming institutes mandated by a government curriculum. Programmed for what you ask? Undercover surveillance. Of their own family, their friends' family, and anything they are taught as to being 'unacceptable' within that environment.
