Commissioner wants to outlaw assault weapons - 02/15/2008 - MiamiHerald.com
OK, So I just got home from work and the paper was already waiting by the front door. While I am having a bit of "cafe con leche" I find the article above. Nothing new, just the typical liberal democrats bantering about the UBRs but I almost spit my coffee when I read the last sentece of the article.
I beg your frigging pardon?!?!?! What do you mean give the right? I swear I almost popped an ulcer by such blatant disregard for the meaning of the Bill of Rights. I went ahead and dropped a line or two in the comment section. It is scary that Timoney is the Chief of Police.
Timoney said. "You can craft a bill that still gives people the right
to bear arms.''

while i don't own any so called asault rifles, i'm all for ownership
of them by us law-abiding citizens just like any other firearms
we own. to ban them from us is just step one in banning all
firearm ownership.(woundn't that just make the anti's happy).
i know this topic has been beating to death but just have to
vent on the bad rep wekeep hearing about them.(sheep and
anti's).i quess i should have said assault weapons.but why
is assault weapon refered to firearms. lets not forget any
thing else, baseball bat, lead pipe, etc. so many other items
that can be used as a so-called assault weapon.

What is it about rights, that seem to have contol freaks think they can apply words like - "allowed", "permitted", "restricted", "partial", "limited" ........... and plenty more.
A right is by definition - just that, and should not be up for any ''massaging'' .... which is all we seem to see being tried and even done successfully more and more.

Man, we can expect more and more of this type of stuff from the Anti-Rights crowd.
Big Brother goverment here we come, next will be bills the still grant the rights to a free trail.

Miami City Commissioner Wants To Ban Assault Weapons
Once again using false logic and stats, a Miami City Commissioner wants to ban assault weapons. I especially like his statement "Guns once found in the hands of soldiers, are now cheap, readily available on streets and often pointed at those sworn to protect and serve us."

Those words do have a order in which they will use them:

It's all about "control"!!! Stalin would be proud.
Assault weapons ban: Don't these pinheads realize that the so called ban, did NOT stop the sale of these weapons! I mean come on, I bought 3 during the "ban"!!! 2 were AKs at that! It stopped the sale of "new" manufactured magazines, but there were plenty of pre-bans in this country, yes they would have dried up some day, but it didn't do anything to stop crime in the least bit!!!

the same "no legitimate reason" crap again. I don't need a legitimate reason to excercise a right.
"A well-educated electorate, being necessary to the continuance of a free state, the right of the people to keep and read books shall not be infringed."
Is this hard to understand? Then why does it get unintelligible to some people when 5 little words are changed?

Miami USA ???
You all seem to forget that Chief Timoney is not a chief in the USA he is from Miami the northern most suburb of Cuba. Cuba does not have a bill of rights unless your last name is CASTRO. Hell they don't even speak English in Miami.
Would the last English Speaking American escaping from Miami please bring the flag.

The U.S. Supreme Court said in Cruikshank v. U.S. that the Second Amendment protects a right which existed even before the Constitution was written. The right to arms "is not a right granted by the Constitution. Neither is it in any manner dependent upon that instrument for its existence. The second amendment declares that it shall not be infringed."

Despite their modern, military appearance, firearms that have been labeled as "assault weapons" operate like other semi-automatic firearms, use the same ammunition as other firearms, and possess no feature or characteristic not available on other firearms.
