It's so wild that it even came to a vote...talk about insane legislation.

It seems like that idea is being passed around way too much. What a waste of time!

Being considered here in AZ too.

From what I have seen, a lot of this is being pushed by a very organized national effort and they are pushing in many states just trying to get a foothold for precedence.

Be careful and very alert and call your reps on it ASAP at any sign of it. It is going to keep coming back. Starts as insane looking legislation; fails. Then comes back "trimmed down"; fails by narrower margins. And so on until some aspect of it passes and then they have their foot in the door and they just work their way right back up to the original bit by bit.

If you don't believe me, after contacting reps here in AZ about our version of the ammo-ban. One said it was DOA, had no chance, etc. Third said, (in email) they would not consider this legislation in it current form. What the he** does she mean by current form?! Had to call her on it but not getting reply.

    Be on guard.

Correct me if I am wrong, but don't they have a hard time just identifying calibre from a fired round, much less trying to read a serial number? What good would this do? Aside from making ammo impossible to manufacture...Well, I guess that's their goal. I plan on having reloading equipment before January...Just in case.

besides the 3-500,000 dollar cost for the equipment, SAAMI stated that it would slow production down so much that it would take 3 weeks to produce what a company normally would in a day.

The fact this got voted down unanimously in a state like MD that isn't the most gun friendly is definitely encouraging. Maybe the law makers are starting to use common sense...maybe.

Might be a little wishful thinking there 500. I hope you are correct, but history is not on your side.

A unanimous defeat of anti-gun legislation in Maryland? Wow! Perhaps there is a tooth fairie after all. Maybe ... just maybe ... it's starting to sink in, with legislators everywhere.

maybe they realized that criminals will still get unmarked ammo... just like they illegally get guns. nah, they probably just don't want to pay more when they pick up their hunting ammo.

After hearing that only two people spoke FOR the bill, and they both had a vested interest, I figured it would go down in flames.

Now if they would only realize how much money they are wasting on the cartridge data base. They couldn't get that tossed out last year.

Bernie - there is no sense in trying to inject logic into a discussion about government and anti's!..................they are all

Seriously, that's great news out of Maryland! Maybe the other states will see the light too!
