An interesting read. Thanks for the post. I agree with most of the point the author brought up, but I couldn't help but chuckle at a couple of the arguments. I kept expect to see, "Nazi's ate bread during dinner... IL Senators ate bread during dinner when they passed this law"
In other words, some of the comparisons were not very strong IMHO, but the one's that were far outweighed the weaker ones.
Ain't it the truth! We were still in the anti-Nazi, anti-communism mentality in the late '60's. I can't believe people didn't pick up on the comparisons (but then again, we didn't have the world's libraries available via the Internet either).
